I'm lucky enough to be driving up 1 from San Diego to SF with a new car and one of my best friends on Fri/Sat; this is going to rock.

I will probally take it slow and make 2 days out of it so we can enjoy the ride and take pictures. I've usually stayed at The Highlands in the Carmel Highlands, but am up for something different this time. Any suggestions on a unique place to stay around a halfway point up this great drive? Bonus points for anywhere with an infinity-edged hot tub.

Ben, you might want to check out Esalen. Rooms are nothing special but the food is awesome and the tubs overlooking the ocean are the best.

I recommend lunch at Duarte's in Pescadero on the 2nd day. Get 1 artichoke soup, and 1 jalapeno soup, and mix it all together - YUM! Sounds gross, tastes great!

Thanks John! I've been meaning to check it out for years. Can I call them up and book it like a hotel room the night before? Always thought of it as more of a retreat type place.

My friend Richard who is a fellow Ferrari owner and FCA member owns and operates a Hotel/ B&B called "On the Beach B &B" 805-995-3200 there. It is a beach front Hotel. The rooms are huge and some of them are equipped with Hot tubs on the deck. He also has underground parking for your Ferrari and if you call ahead he will provide you with a car ramp so your car's spoiler would not get scuffed. What service!

Also if you mention about you own a ferrari and heading to the Monterey week end he will give you a discounted room rate!

Casey; wow the remodel really came out amazing. I'll have to check them out. Still under the impression it's more of a workshop/retreat kind of thing than a bookable hotel, anyone have any info?
