If you are talking on the shots that show the two cars far away it is because those are really tight curves that are difficult to see from the angle of were the camera was mounted. The part where the two cars are racing side by side on the straightaway we were doing 190 km/h ...yeap slow ...you can bring down your granny anytime, heck... I'd even love to see YOU give it a try!!! BTW, I'm the one driving the Trofeo on the first half of the video and driving the Coupe on the second half and here is a more recent video of a visit to the track with my Coupe Cambiocorsa, the Trofeo, a Gransport and a Ferrari F-430 http://www.sporttuned.com/watch.php?v_id=588 I hope you guys enjoy.
Funny videos! And a typical South American "circuit": If you lost it here - you are DEAD!!! Absolutley NO safety areas or armcos! Normally a standart 4200 GT is no match for a Trofeo. Btw., driving 190 km/h on a straight looks nice...but is not difficult! Also, the camera was not mounted - it was in the hands of a co-driver who bounces left to right! Yes, you are right - the curves are tight! But you seem to drive there more often, so try to get a bit faster next time! Come to the old Nuerburgring and get a ride ofer there...and you s***t in your pants! 172 curves on one lap........! No such a place anywhere on this planet - but with Armcos! Ciao! Walter
...you're right Walter although mine is not so standard anymore and we all felt it posed some competition on the straightway. As a person who has driven both several times I can tell you that engine wise is very difficult to feel the difference (besides that of the sound) but suspension and brakes are far superior on the Trofeo. On the part that I drive the Coupe the driver of the Trofeo is my 22 year old son... he owns a ~400hp supercharged BMW so he is no strange to race tracks, he could have passed me but I had given him strict orders of not to because I did not wanted any chips on the front of my car. ...yeap... right again Walter, but it depends a lot on the circuit and length of the straightaway... ours is not too long and begins with a bit of an uphill and also remember that we are talking about street legal cars here and not 800 hp race cars with extremely up-graded brakes, those reach 230 km/h on the same straightway. Here is a picture of me coming out of the curve just before the straightaway ...and this other picture shows the straightaway itself uphill indeed... I did and on only the second time at the track I was able to top 200 km/h, same car only difference was that I had a brand new set of Michelin PS2. On the way to the track was a complete different story... in parts we drove at over 250 km/h. ...is that an invitation? I'd love to go there some day... PacoSaca, this funny circuit reminds me of the Dijon-track in France: the last corner before the uphill to the straight beginns in the bottom, goes uphill but down hill of the outside apex (right-hander!)!! I drove that circuit with my old Merak and with three 4200`s of different build year! What a difference! Anyhow - the total absence of any safety- details and components makes me wonder that you guys are still alive....! Yes, feel free to come to Germany for experiance the ol`Nuerburgring (but only in Summer!). Record stands now for 172 -mostly- blind corners and 23 km length for 1 lap by under 8:00 minutes (not for me!)! Puhhhhhpfff......... Ciao! Walter
