I just got a call from Pirelli (Austria) that Trofeo R is available in 285/35/R19 now. I ordered a set 245/285 for my Scudi and should receive them in 3 weeks. For the complete set I should pay 1245,- Euro incl. 20% VAT.

Looks like a good price. Same profile front and back?
    Stick em on your Beamer.

I expect that profile on 285/35/R19 is the same than 305/30/R19 but I do not know yet. Will see when they arrive.

F430GT, you try the new Trofeo's yet? Would be interested in hearing your thoughts and opinions.

Fastest racetrack tire I have driven that can be driven on the streets to/from the racetrack.

This tire cannot be used as a permanent street tire, it dies after 16-20 Heat cycles.

I ran 265/325 Trofeo, and now 245 Trofeo R/325 Trofeo. The 265 old Trofeo had more grip than the 245 Trofeo R, but that was probably due to the wider size.

The only faster tires (there are plenty) cannot be driven on the streets, they require a trailer: slicks, R1, R6, A6, RS, etc.

wow......fast response. lol So for a tires to be used for 2-3 track day weekends a year and about 5k street miles, you still recommend MPSS or RE-11's over the Trofeo's?

Trofeo is a dedicated track tire. It can be driven on streets to get to the track and back, but it is not a street tire.

For street tires that have acceptable grip on a racetrack, MPSS and RE11. Bridgestone is about to release the new RE11A that makes the RE11 obsolete, the RE11A is going to be faster. The Hankook RS3 is a fast street tire as well, but Hankook has never been offered as an OEM tire, so only Pirelli, Michelin, Bridgestone and GoodYear fit the bill. GY and Pirelli don't have a fast street tire available.

The Trofeo is the equivalent to NT01, R888, Dunlop SportMaxx Race, Yoko A048/A032, Corsa System, Sport Cups. All these tires have a race compound and a short life on street use, they are sensitive to heat cycles, and they will lose their grip despite of having plenty of tread left.

Problem is there are not many street legal tires (430 Scudi,..) available for street & track in Europe:
    Pirelli Corsa
    Pirelli Trofeo R
    MPSS

    No RE-11 available in Europe? That sucks....easy non-choice then...MPSS.

Will be interested in seeing the RE-11A when they come out then. Putting off tires till the late summer now as I wont be driving much when I'm home due to out of town classes. Might only get a couple hundred street miles. :-( Thanks as always for the report Rad.

Hi and sorry for posting right here. I am looking for the same set of P Trofeo R to fit on my BMW 1M. In Czech republic they quoted me for complete ridiculous price. 1250 EUR seems much better. Could you provide me contact to your Austria supplier? I will try to get them this way. Thank you. Tomas ([email protected])
