360 Trouble getting into 1/2 gear when warm

My 6MT 360 started having trouble getting into 1st and 2nd when warm. Sounded like the classic shifter bushing problem so I ordered a Hills Engineering replacement. When I pulled the shifter, I found it already had a Hills Engineering part (the PO had told me he replaced it but I didn't remember it being the HE part). I replaced it since I had a new one anyway but the original part only showed surface wear.

So, where to look next? Could it be as simple as a shifter cable adjustment? The last major was about 18mo ago at Auto Elite in NJ. Assume Vinnie would have bled the clutch but I'll do it again anyway since the belly pan is off. I am really gentle on clutches and it only has 20k or so on it so I don't think it's bad. Hill Engineering throwout bearing replaced about 10yrs ago.

Heat exchanger is still good. I changed the trans oil last week.

 

Excellent question! I think it was still hard with the engine off and hot, which is part of what led me to the bushing diagnosis but I'm not 100% certain.

Since the tray is off, I'm going to have a good look at the linkage in back.
