I am having trouble plugging my V1 radar detector into my F430, either the V1 connector is too long or the connection too slack. Either way if I go over a bump the connection goes bad and the detector stops working. Has anyone else had this problem please?

    1. Try a two plug adapter like they sell at Wal-Mart. If it works you will have and estra plug in. Also, you can modify the cheap Wal-Mart adapter and not worry about totally ruining your V1 plug.

2.WD-40 helps improve connections...use just a little, you don't want to short out your system and fry your fuse. Have a spare fuse HANDY.

    3. Have your V1 hard wired.

try popping one of the springs out on the adaptor and bending it outwards.

Fold up a little piece of paper and wedge it on the side of the plug.

There is a different adapter available from Valentine if the problem is that your power adapter won't stay plugged in tight enough to the cig outlet in the car.

I had my V1 wired to the dome light. It's much cleaner this way.

I also had mine hard wired to dome light. (Don't know if you can do this in a spider).

I had this same problem. Called Valentine and told them about it. They sent me another plug. It looked identical. However, it solved the problem

Called Valentine and they sent me another plug which looks to have solved the problem.

Just as well as my v1 saved my bacon twice yesterday when driving out in the Hamptons, NY...

Thanks again for all your help!
