My friend is having problems with his cd-changer. He has the original Sony XR-F21RDS head unit, and when he tries to use the cd-changer, he gets a message telling him to press the reset button. Problem is, we can`t find the reset button. The user manual doesn't tell where this button is located either. So, can anyone tell me where the userbutton is on the headunit? Or, is it located on the cd-changer?

    Thank you,

    Knut

With the car running, the reset button on the F355 is located by depressing the gas pedal firmly to the floor. At that point the radio and CD changer reset button locations become irrelevant. Problem solved.

(Sorry, I wish I could be of real help, but in almost 4 years of ownership I have never turned the radio or CD player on in my car.)

Lol! Point well taken. I assure you the straight pipes on his car makes the cd-player pretty much irrelevant, but on longer trips he wants to listen to some music.

Can anyone help? A search on this site didn´t reveal anything.

If you slide the auto changer cover door back and look down at the eject button is there a small black indented button next to it? It's a very small button which needs to be pressed with a pin or the tip of a ball point pen

I have a Sony CD player with a removable front panel (different model) & the reset button is behind the front panel on the left lower corner of unit.

Are you one of those guys who does 400 miles a year??

I get stuck in traffic, and sometimes and take long, fast drives- After an hour or so my Quicksilver Stage 3 gets a little old- so SRV and Double Trouble cranked through a really great aftermarket system is AWESOME....

I mean- it's about enjoying yourself isn't it??

Nice choice, Stevie's Strat joining one of Ferraris finest soundtracks!
I spent over 15 years designing and building some of the finest car audio systems including many many Ferraris, over 30 355's but mine stays standard apart from the head unit being a Becker. A bit of mid bass would be nice, let alone bass but I can't bring myself to do it.

Mine has a custom subwoofer box that wraps around the factory rear deck- looks pretty stock but provides some much needed bottom- doors and dash speakers replaced with Focals- 600 watt amp in the trunk- To each his own but a fast car with no tunes doesn't cut it for me.

Just took a little early evening blast with Kings of Leon up rt 495....

And after 45 minutes on the highway you're not wishing for a little bit of entertainment besides those pipes 6 feet behind your head?? Nothing wrong with that- I'm just curious....

That is correct. I have never gotten tired of listening to the sound of that 40 valve symphony. I am still amazed and get goosebumps when I step on the gas in my F355 and can hear the sound of air being sucked into the engine over the sound of the exhaust. When I do the next major service, the Tubi muffler is coming off and a Capristo Stage III is going on, as it is my goal to have the loudest exhaust possible.

I don't fault anyone for wanting to listen to some tunes in their Ferrari. Different strokes for different folks, and we all enjoy our cars in different ways and I can appreciate that. I suppose that I am in the minority now, as the other day I was at the Ferrari dealership in Greensboro looking at an F430 and the salesman was trying to sell me on the luxury items installed on the car. I flat out stopped him and told him that those were the things that were turning me off of the F430 and steering me towards a 360 Challenge Stradale. I like Ferraris that are raw, pure sports cars. Cars with loud, obnoxious exhausts. Cars with bone-crushing suspensions. I was a little bit disappointed when I first saw that the Enzo came with a radio and leather seats from the factory.
