    There is currently a TR for auction on the Copart website. Current bid is $18,100. The car is decribed has having a "Burned Engine". Maybe it is a wiring fire???? What I don't understand is why would anyone pay this much (plus fees) for a TR that will probably need an engine rebuild and partial re-wiring while there is a very nice TR advertised on CL for $52k.
    If someone here knows anything about either of these cars please explain it to me.
    DISCLAIMER : I have no interest financial or otherwise with either of these car.
    I am interested because I hope someday to own one.

    You never know who intends to buy it, or why... My guess is that a parts company is buying it to dismantle and sell off in bits rather than making an attempt at a restoration.

    If the car is in nice shape other than the burned engine then 18k is a fair price (maybe a bit high), for a parts car.
    Shop around for individual body panels, doors, bonnet and rear hatch and you'll see what I mean.
