Looking up flags with my 11 year old, I find Angola's flag has a machete on it. Creepy. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Well...So, the machete I understand. What's the other thing, like a broken machine part or something.
i didnt know that the old USSR flags had a tool on them, ijust thought it was a cool design. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I get it! A very clever design by the Angolans! The red is blood of course.... blood of the evil white man who has now been expunged by the proper indigenous black men, thus the black backing up the red. The broken gear is representative of the evil european industrialization that has been destroyed, and the machete is the blessed instrument of the destruction of the evil european oppressors. Its all crystal clear. A beautiful flag representing the final victory of the indigenous people over their prior evil colonizing masters. BTW: How is that working out over there? Terry
Without looking it up (no interest really) I bet you are right on the money; although there may be a little ethnic cleansing in there too.
