Ugg- so I got two nails in one of my original TRX tires. They are looking a little dry rotted so I am going to replace them rather than try to patch them (and risk a blowout). I am trying my best not to drop 2 Grand on a set of Cokers. Awhile back a dealer had a set of danish tires for under 250 each that he said fit the mondial, but he has since sold them. Any ideas on how I can new rubber on this car for around a grand. Any suggestions before I bite the bullet would be greatly appreciated. The car is an 86 Mondial 3.2 Cab. -Thanks!

not sure if TRX are available new in the states, but if they are they will be really expensive. Most people change the wheels for a later model and use regular rubber. A lot cheaper and improved handling are real bonuses! My mondi now wears T wheels which I bought off of Ebay, just my thoughts!

That would be my first choice. However, it seems that the supply has tried up for summer. Last winter, wheels were everywhere, but I haven't seen any 328/mondial non-trx wheels for sale for two weeks! I got a feeling things are not getting any better. Modena wheels are everywhere, but I don't think they would look right on my car.

I've got one of the early '86 3.2 cabs as well and bought my tires from Coker last summer. I paid $1,750, and it looks like they've gone up a little since then. The problem with the '86 (as I'm told) is that the Mondial T wheels won't fit it, and the 328 won't either. (According to my dealer.) The only easy option is to find a set of late '86, '87, or '88 16" wheels. As I understand it, anything else is going to involve spacers and possibly some "creativity" to get them to fit. I looked for a while like you are but all I was able to find was some guy that had the rears - but they'd been sitting on a rack for 20 years. I finally just bit the bullet and got the ones from Coker. Keep an eye on E-Bay for 16" wheels though - they should run you about $2,000.

Ok- I just got a set of 348 wheels/tires off ebay. I have seen a lot of mondials running these wheels so I assume they work fine. Is there anything I need to know?

If you want new TRX's you have your choice- at least in the US of buying from Coker, Coker or Coker- they are about 500 a piece. I think if I get another Ferrari w/ TRX - will pull them, have the wheeld refinished and a new set of rubber from COKER- After that I will buy a set of 348 wheels or even aftermarket ones for daily use, but still have the correct ones in reserve- because somehow that will make my use of non original seem all right in my little mind.

    I believe,
You need longer lug nuts to run 348 wheels,,,
    maybe a spacer or two?

I like my Mondial "T" wheels.
And, they take factory Mondial 8 Lug nuts.

    16" X 7" front
    16" X 8" rear
