I am in the process of buying a Gran Sport 05' with very little miles. I started the engine and it made plenty tick tick noises. Is this normal? What should I look for in buying this vehicle. The seller says it goes away after a while. I am a first time Maserati buyer.

Also, I need your help with Baby Seat pictures in Maserati Coupes, I need to sell it to my wife.

    Thanks in advance.

Is the oil clean or dirty. Maybe the owner used an incorrect multi-grade oil.
Recaro makes a baby seat that will fit the Maser.

They probably never even changed it. I'll ask to change it prior to purchase.

My car will do this once in a while as well. I think it is a common characteristic of the car when cold.

Do you mind telling me how much you are paying for it? I'm going to buy a 05 or 06 in the next couple of weeks and would like to know the fair price for it.

How old are the kids you'll be putting in the GS?

Between my wife and I we've had a 2 door Mas for over 2 years now. our daughter is just about to turn 6 and fits fine. The key is to put something UNDER the car seat in the curve of the seat. A folded up blanket works really.

I'll take some pics if you need them.

I have a rear facing baby seat in my coupe for our 6 month old. I cut some foam swimming noodles to fill in the bucket in the back seat. they work great, and are plenty firm to keep the car seat base from digging into the leather. PM me and I can send you some pics tonight.

Common causes would be low oil, old oil, bad oil filter, or exhaust leak. Could be a loud/sticky fuel injector as well. Easy fixes, all.

I would guess it is the battery. Does the current owner have the GranSport hooked up to a battery charger when the car isn't being driven?
