Hi - can any one help?

I am trying to contact the owner of Ferrari 275GTB 07237 - John P. Reding, Mount Prospect, IL/USA.

    His 275GTB is chassis number 07237 .
I believe the car is Silver with black and red interior.
The registration or license plate I believe is "GO FISH".

The original engine 07237 with internal number 398/64 is now installed in my Ferrari 275GTB chassis 07333, it is possible that my original engine number 07333 is installed in Mr Redings car (chassis number 07237).

I would like to make contact and establish if this is the case, and at the very least let Mr Reding know that the original engine for his car is in my chassis.

Ultimately it would be great if we could repatriate the original engines to the correct chassis.

    Any help greatly appreciated.
    thanks
    Mark

Many thanks Ed, I have posted a message via ZabaSearch and i am now awaiting a reply. I have never used Zaba before and am unfamiliar with it here in the UK, I am not sure the results it will achieve.

If anyone knows John Reding, could I please ask you to pass on my above request by email or call.

    cheers
    mark

Zaba should give you a phone number, doubt "posting a message" there will get any results.

Have you tried contacting a few well known Ferrari Techs in that area. A car like that has a regular mechanic.

I believe Marcel said in another thread that he knew of the current owner of 7237. I just did a few google variants and couldn't find anything (275 GTB + "John Reding", "JP Reding", etc.). The typical spelling would be "Redding." It might be worth searching different spellings, tracking who sold it to him, past rally organizers, etc.

    Good luck Mark!

Hi, I have all the details from FML, the late great Gerald kindly passed them on earlier this year.

The problem is, i have no email address for Mr Reding. I have sent letters to all the addresses i have come across and i have phoned all the numbers i have found - no reply or pick up from any of my efforts.

I am in London and not familiar with any of the local Ferrari experts in Mount Prospect, ILLINOIS - any leads appreciated.

Lake Forest is only 20 miles away and there's a well known Ferrari dealer there who has been in business for decades. Perhaps a place to inquire?

As suggested - a thread in the Chicago regional forum might be the best idea. If he's active in the local Ferrari community someone there would probably know the best way to reach him.

I'm a personal friend of John. He has his 275 serviced by a shop in Palatine IL USA and yes, the Tag is "Go Fish". He once owned 'Fishermans Dude Ranch' in Des Plaines, IL., thus the Tag.

I won't give out John's personal info without his OK. If you will, forward me your info via a PM and I will contact John; he lives about 1 mile from me.

Again, please respect our privacy and make future contacts through PMs or direct email.

I only sent the PM to the friend this morning, they will still be sleeping in the USA!

I will also have to respect the contacts request for privacy, if we get anywhere and all parties are happy to discuss I will of course let FChat know the outcome.

    cheers

I may be wrong, but I doubt it was John Redding's 275 GTB. He usually doesn't attend events and he usually has his cars serviced at an independent shop owned by a friend of mine.

If I'm wrong in your observation, I apologize.

Car was there for service, the owner was not attending. Living in chicagoland, and i have a 275 and i haven't seen any silver GTB's in a long time, this one i spotted, and remember making comments on the dark redish interior. Just my food for thought, if this helps great!

    Dave,

Doesn't look like John Reding's car; his is a short-nose and body and paint are a bit rough. I spoke to John today and he said his car wasn't at Continental, so apparently there are at least 2 in the area.

By the way everyone, 'Reding' is the correct spelling
