Last year there was a show I believe on Saturdays in Glenview. It was covered here with links to pics but I can't find anything. Does anyone have the link to the show or when it starts up again?

If it's Saturday, May 1st I could be in luck! I'm actually off on that Saturday which never happens. If all goes will, I'll be there with my son.

Interesting but the location seems like it will be challanging and unpleasant

Our new and improved website for Supercar Saturday should be up and running this weekend.

Last April when we came up with the concept of an informal cars and coffee type get together we thought about hosting it weekly. However with weather being iffy in Chicago we opted for the once a month route. We could have easily hosted it at my shop, but I felt that the event would better serve everyone and be more appealing if it was in a more comfortable setting. Hence why we chose the Glen. With a starbucks, several restaurants and and numerous stores it is the perfect setting.

I look forward to seeing you all the first Saturday of the month beginning May.

    Regards

This is not a great area at all. It's all industrial. The guy has set it up for the sole purpose of promoting his own company, that's why it all says presented by HXC.

As you can tell in the aerial shot on his website, there is a ready-mix concrete factory across the street. I'm wondering where the Coffee is?

Nothing beats the Cars and Coffee at The Glen in Glenview www.Supercarsaturday.com
The first one is Saturday May 1st. Hope to see many Fchatters there.

I googled them as well and noticed the barren neighbourhood and didn't quite understand why they would hold an event there.

While not a great location esthetically (unless you are into industrial art), it hasn't been dangerous for about ten years. I drive past there almost everyday and biked past there today. Orloff is three blocks away and there is a great wine shop on Elston two blocks South. Horween leather is also there and the smell can be very overpowering. FWIW Horween is one of the last producers of cordovan leather in America (if not the last). As far a where to get coffee, there really isn't anything in walking distance; however, there are several great places to eat within a five to ten minute drive.

Which begs the question as to why anyone would want to park their car there and do nothing from 7am-2pm since everything is DRIVING distance.
It seems that The Glen offers great parking and tons of restaurants that you are able to PARK INFRONT of. I attended The Glen twice last year and can't wait for May 1st.

I didn't "beg the question," I merely pointed out it is an industrial area (surrounded by real neighborhoods) and not a scary neighborhood. I added information about the neighborhood from someone who lived near there for several years and has been in and around that neighborhood for more than 25 years. It would not be my first choice to host a car event there; however, to each his own. Photographers who specialize in industrial art love that area (google "finkl steel pictures"). I know nothing about the organizer but hope the event does well.
