Hello all, I am the proud new owner of a 1997 Rosso Corsa Berlinetta. The ECU is showing a code for the exhaust bypass valves. I assume a previous owner had them wired open to stop the common rattling so I'm going to dive in and take a look. Is there a common fix for the code or if I unstick them (assuming that is the issue) will the ECU pick up on the valves moving and drop it's code?

Thanks in advance, I'm headed to the garage.

Sorry I can't help you specifically, but as far as emissions tests, once you can get Classic or Collector car insurance on your car, you can get the car registered as a Collector car in Az, and no more emissions tests!! I registered my '92 348 in Tempe when I bought it in 2008, and did just that! Only need proof of Collector or Classic car insurance to show DMV. I purchased insurance from Hagerty. May require car to be at least 15yrs old, but you're getting close if that's the case. Check DMV website for specifics.

Ahh, good call I may just do that.

However I would like to fix the problem so if any others arise I will be alerted by the CEL.
