easy...don't use valet parking... they have keys for easy access / essentially cars are open and assumed to be parked on airport property

use the valet key which allows access only to door and ignition, would they be satisfied with cabin acess only

what I don't understand is how TSA can ask a vendor for access to property entrusted soley to them... there must be some kind of breach of warranty by granting a 3rd party access or even asking the valet to snoop around and report what they saw...

I understand the security issue, but random searches by authorites without a warrant, would be illegal even if a vendor offering a service has access which should not be transferable under any circumstances

the article refers to vendor parking being closer to the terminal, while personally parked vehicles are a safer distance away ( from potential destructive event )... in my hood valet parking generally is physically off airport, is the TSA planning a random seach without basis on vehicles off gov/t property as well

as word of this action spreads, valet parking should take a substancial financial hit, do they have grounds to push back...

this action is beyond the scope of general public safety, and should be stopped asap

I'm sorry, but I don't see this as AviatorChat material. Does anyone else agree?

TSA has nothing to do with aviation?

Yes, it has something to do with aviation. So do airport restrooms, snack bars, and curbside baggage check-in; but I don't see any of these as being particularly relevant to a forum dedicated to aircraft and aviation. Maybe it's just me.

If the admin wants to move it, that's ok. I put it here because it's one of the only forum segments I have access to. I thought it might be of interest to people in the comm flying community to know about, but it can go to the abyss if he chooses. Since the TSA focuses mainly on air travel, I thought it appropriate, but I've been wrong before, and I'll be wrong again in the future.
