Depends on whose ear you use....

Seriously, there are alot of threads debating the "audio quality" of these two fine products...but don't even bother searching for them....why?
The truth is, the only way to know which is best FOR YOU is to listen to them yourself....either in person (preferable) or through various sound-bites easily found on this and other F-car forums.

Depending on where you reside, I would personally suggest trying to find a local gathering of F-car/F-chat regulars who I'm sure would be more than happy to demonstrate either...

    Good luck!

Capristo for me, sounds much more impressive. Tubi quiets down above 3k, Capristo sounds awesome at any RPM.

I have the Capristo on my 550 Barchetta. everyone says it sounds great and I agree. The only comparison I have is the dealership rep who says he has heard both and prefers the Capristo on the 550. Says the Tubi sounds bad actually on this model. I am in Delaware if that isnt too far your welcome to stop by. jon

I think the sound of the Tubi depends on the year of the car. If it's a 1999 and newer, that has the less restrictive cat setup, I think it sounds awesome, like my 1999.

I've heard a 2001 with Tubis and mine sounded better.

My Tubi quiets above 2000 rpm, but becomes angrier as revs go up from 4000 rpm. I like that particular quality - it makes highway cruising still a possibility when you slot it in 6th gear at 90 mph. But I have to admit, I'd love to hear any of the other makes of exhausts; I've only heard mine.

Michael - that's quite surprising. I've got a 2000 model so presumably that sounds different from yours as well. Would be interesting to hear it in real life - I hope I run into one in the Netherlands at some point.

I have a 1998 550 and a 2005 575, Both have Capristo's. The 2005 is a little deeper than the 550, The guy's at Algar seem to like them, say there a little loud, but you can still carry on a concersation at 70mph. And you save about 50lbs of wight over the stock ones.
Don't take the center muffler off if you have one because they become realy loud.
Plus they look really good from behind.

Sorry.... I meant to say 2000 and newer has the more restrictive cats. 1997-1999 have more grunt. I'm not sure about euro cars though....

I have a 2001 with Tubi cans and Tubi X-pipe.....everyone comments on how much they like the sound at the various F-car meets we have locally. I used to have the tubi cans only, and the sound was not as nice, or as robust throughout the rev range. The X-pipe made all the difference, although the cans alone were a big step up from stock. Now, it's just perfect!
Since the x-pipe was relativley inexpensive to buy and install, I suggest the switch at the same time you do the cans.

Another important consideration is the air filter, I have the Tubi "sport" filter, but there are other "High-flow" filters that may sound/perform even better.
A definite must with the new exhaust......
