I'm considering installing a tubi style exhaust to my car, tried driving a friend's car with the loud muffler version and it gave me a headache after 30 min of highway driving. I was told that a tubi standard version is made and it is close to Ferrari standard level but has no valve so the sound is on all the time at low and high rpm and regardless of gas peddle angle.

can anyone let me know if they have it? and is it really worth it?

Why don;t you just remove the vacuum pipes to the valves on the standard exhaust, that will leave them open all the time

Very easy to do, but even easier is to just wire the actuators for the flaps open - takes 5 minutes, and if you don't like it, you can cut the wires withou even getting under the car.

I tried this with the stock exhaust, and did not like the results. It gave the same quality of sound as the stock car, only it filled in the gap under 4000 rpm.

I then swithced to the Tubi LOUD system (no flaps), and am not too impressed with those either. It does drone quite a lot. Sounds great from outside, but still sounds mediocre from the inside - king of a flat bellow sound rather than a deep big block roar.

the default is for the flaps to be open, disconnect the vacuum hoses and block them with an M6 bolt or similar, the valves will then stay open, see how you like it, if it's no good then just reattach the pipes

Ive got the medium Tubi on my 599...definately loud enough in imo, i like it and you get the popping on the overrun too

Before you guys go rushing out to install Tubis (or any other non authorized parts) be aware that Ferrari are taking a hard line, whether justified or not, and voiding warranties on materially modified cars. Exhausts fall into the engine mod category and they are advising dealers not to process warranty claims of any description on modified cars. I'm sure that a legal nudge will reverse the decision but it will be annoying to have to deal with. If the car is out of warranty or you don't care, go ahead. I personally like the sound of the stock exhaust on my 599. I find Tubis to vibrate the air at just the level to give you a headache after 5 mins.

I fitted the X-OST to my Superamerica and that sounded good but it was loud enough to trigger some car alarms when I downshifted. It also popped and burbled nicely when coming off the revs. I didn't drive that car enough to be too aware of the sound on a long drive, but I use my 599 as a daily driver and the stock exhaust is just perfect.
