why would an owner buy a tubi over an x-ost? the x-ost quality is as good or better than tubi and the prices are considerably better?
you may be correct for now but give it some time. The real question is why are people still buying Stebro.
Hi Jason, I had heard that Tubi stopped production of the four inlet (per side) muffler for the 512BBi. I tried to order one several years ago and was unable to. The US distributor told me Tubi was only making the 2 inlets per side version and it comes with metal block off plates for the other outlet pipes. Do you actually have a brand new one sitting in your inventory?
I do not but I can call and check on it for you tomorrow. According to their latest price sheet they have it listed. I will let you know.
To be honest, I'm not really interested. I ended returning the 2-inlet Tubi and bought a fully polished four inlet Larini System instead. I'm just curious if the four inlet system is still available or not from Tubi. Gary
yes give it time. i have seen both and now know the x-ost system first hand. you NOTHING on the table by going the x-ost route i promise you. and btw, to hear an x-ost system on a tr is a religious experience!! not so w/ the tubi.
my x-ost and test pipes are being installed on my 512TR this week... very very anxious to hear the sound of it!
and btw...nothing wrong w/ stebro. they will soon be making a single can boxer system for the 365 headers. it will scream like the x-ost system for the tr.
many, the sound will make you ***** egg rolls! the sound will wake the dead!!! please report your impressions.
Can you post the best price for this Tubi as several owners would be interested . I myself hope to win the lottery soon
Tubi doesn't allow its distributors to post prices. I have to follow their rules to keep being a distributor. If anybody is interested just PM me and I will get back to you within a few hours. Thanks.
if you want a great price on a tubi, call GMP performance in charlotte, nc. ask for joe and mention my name. you will not likely get a better price. i still would tell you that you should consider x-ost however.
an important purpose of this site is to help boxer owners make the boxer owner experience less a financial burden and overall, a more enjoyable one. we have through it all, gotten to be a close group and i would not dream of letting david or any other owner make a decision w/o knowing about options. i trust we all feel the same way to some extent. if your price is in the game...you should be fine. there are now options for we boxer owners and tubi and ansa are not the only ones. i am not an exhaust vendor but i think there are some great systems out there and not all cost a small fortune. tubi does make a nice system so i hope you did not see my comments as hurtfull. if so you have my legitimate apologies. best, pcb
I have recently looked into the x-os system and the two I am considering are that one or the Bell. Can anyone compare/contrast the sound quality for both on an injected car? The OEM four can system I have on now is too quiet and I want something that will really wake the car up, but not be so loud as to give me a headache on a longer trip. It is rare just to see another Boxer around, let alone one with one of the exhaust systems I am considering. Thanks
I apologize. I misread your post and thought that you were another sponsor plugging their business on my post. Sorry about that.
no worries jason...again, when i read your post it did make me think i did hi-jack. it was not my intent but i steped wrong. you are nice to accept my apology. thank you again jason. best, peter
Good day Ted, I cannot comment on how the two compare in sounds (on the 512BB), however, Steve was kind enough to place a sound clip of the Bell on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=steveirl The idling in the Background is Steve's buddy in a diesel volkswagen (?). I went with the Bell based solely on its sound. Sadly, I cannot upload any sound clips as the exhaust was damaged during transport... So it must be returned. However, after physically handling the Bell, what I can say that it is made from stainless, but is only highly polished (mirror quality) on the exhaust tips and the actual exhaust canister. The canister must also be described, as it's core is made from lightly polished stainless and is wrapped with a highly polished (mirror finish) skin. I have not physically seen or heard the Tubi or X-Ost, but from the pictures, both look great, both are made from Stainless, and appear to be highly polished (tips, pipes, canisters, etc). Perhaps Exotica Motorsports could publish pictures and sound clips of the Tubi so that we can all see/hear its quality and thus provide a frame of reference to other exhaust alternatives. Cheers, Sam
