I didn't read the whole thread, but if you're a memeber of FCA, look up the Houston chapter president and send him a message. He's got a 512TR with the Tubi and not cats and it sounds incredible.

    Thanks Dan!!
I contacted them and am waiting to hear what they can get me.Are you happy with your system? Did you also get test pipes?

William, could you explain this? What is it about the cross over pipes which leads to an increase in torque?

    STEVE M,

Yes I am happy with it. I don't have test pipes fitted but it sounds like I have. I have posted various MPEG's of my system on www.ferrarirosso.com.

MY TR came with a Tubi and I made some test pipes, to reduce the weight and heat loads. The TR sounds great in that you don't hear the loud meloudious tone until the higher revs which is an optional rpm band with all the low end torq. The Tubi on my 348 without cats sounds like an F1 car at high rpms. Everybody loves the sound at higher rpms but it is just a fun car and I can't imagine listening to the drone at 3100-3200 rpm (70 mph) for a very long trip. My next upgrade is a different 5th gear or ring and pinion on the 348. Unfortunately, I made the TR's test pipes change over the winter and haven't done an a/b comparison. Swapping the cats with test pipes is very easy and the gaskets are reuseable so you could do that to get certified. It makes more sense to me to do that than bust out the ceramic matrix. FWIW

I cant really, too technical for me :)

I'm just repeating what mechanics have told me, Seems that the length of pipe has something to do with the back pressure that impacts the torque produced
