Hi guys. I took my car F430 for annul service at Euro motor sport in Clayton and I also had the engine light on (Amber colour) They told me the light due to the change of exhaust as it has after market one. They said it will cost 3500 I'm just asking is the price of 3500 is ok for F430 and for the engine light does it really need a tune up ? Hopefully there is someone has experience in that. Thank you all for your help.
A lot of 430s and 360s have after market exhausts.......What exhaust is on yours? Also have the CATS been messed with or are they aftermarket? $3500 seems a bit excessive......
Welcome to the world of dickhead Ferrari mechanics. Did they read the codes with a SD3? If not run away. Could be as simple as an oxygen sensor
Oxygen sensors are a very common fault. If you have aftermarket HEADERS (exhaust manifold) it WILL throw an engine light. If it is just the exhaust, from the Cat Converters back, that will NOT throw a code. Reading the fault codes will guide you in the right direction as to what the fault is. My guess is O2 sensors. If you have aftermarket manifolds, send your ECU’s to a tuner in the US. They will remap them and also get rid of the O2 sensor light issue. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I've never heard of them. Why did you choose them? Do they have the computers to read the fault codes? What exactly is the $3500 for? We need more information.
Hahaha! Sitting on a beach drinking pina coladas and you still check Fchat! We all suffer from a disease, gentlemen!
I have chosen them because of the number of positive reviews they have on Google. I' assuming they do looking at their fancey workshop. The after market exhaut been installed a year ago so I'm assuming it should show this issue a while ago if it was really the case is. Do you think 3500 is the right price for tune up ? I have done a tune up on 200sx years ago and coates me 250 dollar It might be irrelevent but still after all its a tune up They did mention it will take two good days to be done.
You’re telling us NOTHING. A tune up will not be $3500. There is more to this than you are letting on, or you don’t understand what they are telling you. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Yeah, $3500 is right for a tune up, go for it I’ll be down in Melbourne over the Easter weekend, I can bring my OBD device and clear all your warning lights. It will cost $2000 but I’ll throw in an Italian tune up for free
Anyway, there's nothing to tune up, so I don't understand what they're doing.... And I'm worried maybe they don't know either.
Give Alvin a call at http://autoracingtechnik.com/ has the correct software for ferraris. He customer tuned my 360 for $2000. Tunes a lot of ferraris and he won't rip you off
Thanks Hypek9 I will try to contact him tomorrow Sorry for the spelling errors as I'm using my mobile and it does auto-correct without me looking at it Well i have to admit that I don't have knowledge about ferraries but through my research I have a feeling it can be a simple thing I do have the original manifold They believe it something wrong with it thats why previous owner changed Anyway the car runs smoothly and I don't feel any thing wrong but the fact that seeing the engine light on while driving can be really botherig
