Ever since buying an F40, I've really been addicted to driving a turbocharged Ferrari. But I love driving my 512TR, and I'm starting to wonder if I'd love it even more if it had a turbo, too. Any experienced recommendations or advice regarding putting a turbo on my 92 512TR?

    Thanks,

    Steve

Your profile show's you owning the 4 Ferrari's (and cars in general) that are my all time favorites. My recommendation is to leave the 512TR as is - stock. It's just perfect the way it is. You have terrific taste in autos!

Best suited turbocharger for the 512TR is the KKK. Better yet let Koenig turbocharge/modify your engine (cost: £50,000 UK). You'll end up with a 512 that can top 230MPH, 0-60 in 3.2 secs. For that fee they will pick your car up from your driveway, ship it to Germany to convert, then have it back with you in a month.

I've been researching this very issue. Check out this thread. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=74194

There is an article on the site from FORZA. It is scanned in pages, so you have to save the 5 or 6 pages to your computer then increase the view size in whatever picture viewer you have. It's really informative as to what mods/parts need to be done depending on the turbo you want. It's based on a TR using Norwood. I highly recommend you read it. It answered MANY of my concerns.

Being an avid 512 fan I've already checked out Norwood Performance as well as Koenig Specials. Here are some facts: NORWOOD ENGINE CONVERSION FOR 512TR = 0-60MPH IN 4.0 SECS TO 4.2 SECS, TOP SPEED APPROX 210MPH, PRICED BETWEEN £40,000 TO £50,000 UK STERLING.
KOENIG ENGINE CONVERSION FOR 512TR = 0-60MPH IN 3.2 SECS, TOP SPEED 230MPH, PRICED AT £50,000 UK STERLING.
Basically if you want tonnes more performance and value for money I'd go for the Koenig engine conversion. You could more or less achieve the same performance figures as a Norwood engine conversion merely by chipping (ECU remapping) your 512, replacing stock exhaust with a good sports exhaust, Hyperflow cats and K&N Air Filter. I know what I'd go for.
