About to begin soon. Should be interesting - Lewis has been fastest in practice - this morning practice Felipe was .041 behind him followed by Kimi, Alonso, Rosberg. Time to go turn on the big screen tv.

Tough crowd this morning. Waning interest in F1? I personally blame the 3 week break - it loses all the momentum the season has built.

Anyway - R. Schumacher needs to hang it up. He has been talking a lot about building on the success of previous races. There goes that idea...

Q2 - only 12 minutes remaining before anyone comes out - Wurz is only one at this point. Now Trulli is out - going to be a fast paced Q2.

    Carol

Stands are sure empty - wish I was at Mosport this weekend for the ALMS race - championships possibly decided there tomorrow . . .crowd for qualifying there today will make this "crowd" at Turkey look pitiful.

Good morning Steve - how's the day in the UK?

Looks like the next six out are: Davidson, DC, Button, Rubens, Wurz, Webber - Ferrari & McLaren sat out Q2. I think we're going to find Q3 quite interesting.

you're absolutely correct about Q3 - minus 6 minutes and not much activity at this point ! Bought airline tickets the other day to Birmingham for 10 January - do you go to Autosport International at the NEC?

    Carol

less than 3 minutes and Felipe sitting on pole - yeah! ! ! !

I'm happy to see Felipe on pole and good for Lewis for second. Start should be interesting with Kimi and Fred side by side. Kubica and Heidfeld doing a good showing again for BMW. Hope more spectators show up for the race.

Have a great day Steve. Lots of motorsport activity on the tv this weekend for us - Motors TV has the ALMS race from Mosport live for you guys tomorrow.

Hey, I noticed this too. Did they just changed it or something?

    Anyway, congratulations Massa!

As much as I am happy that Massa got pole,I would have preferred Kimi to be there instead. It would be good to get one guy out there doing well and support them like Mac have done with LH.I know it's better sportsmanship that who is best on the day should win but I'm thinking more for the team.Anyway,2nd place in pole isn't the best as it tends to get tight in there.Lets hope Kimi can get past LH

This is just what Massa needed to get his confidence back. Now just carry it into the race, and just like in Spain, don't give up anything to Mclaren.

Davidson in Half Schumacher's seat 2008 ? If I was Piquet Jr. , I'd be thinking Toyota too.........

Just when I was thinking Ferrari should pay Frank for Nico before Mclaren does if Fred splits, Massa pulls this off .....Spectacular!!

They changed some time ago.. but I too was wondering whether they've changed it again. It looked very deep today, almost rubino. Very nice :)

Way to go Massa. If I could have put the 4 of them in any order that would have been it. It will be an interesting start.

I think the Ferrari will have better race pace-Massa's pole lap, as pointed out by Speed TV, was one in which he was only fastest in the first sector but he still pulled it off.

    I'm thinking Ferrari 1-2....

Congrats to Massa and Ferrari! It was a pretty exciting last minute in Q3. I was expecting/hoping for some drama from the McL team :) Let's hope Kimi can have a great start and follow Massa so Hami has to slip into third. I want to see an Alonzo-Hami battle, I think it would make for some great racing.

Given how little goes on in the racing forum compared to the begin of the season I think the realization that McLaren (read Hamilton) will bag this title has set in.

20 points adrift with 6 races to go and the challenger and his car in top form, what do you expect?

I'm just hoping for some honorable performances by Kimi, some occasional win and 2nd place in the championship.

Only one pit stall during the race -- but can they have two different pit crews?

This is getting worse than having two "leading ladies" on the same movie set. :p

We're just waiting for the next round in the McMeltdown. ;)

If Kimi and Massa were to go 1-2 in the following races, we would win constructors by 22 points, and drivers by 4. :D still haven't given up hope.

If one only follows F1, the three week breaks do not help ! One can only post so many "news" stories from other sites :0

I am hoping Ferrari 1-2 all the way now, I do not really care if it is Massa or Kimi :)
