Although many possibilities exist for failure, most of the time the hazard switch seems to be the culprit. Use contact spray and exercise the switch. While the hazard switch have the flasher, lights and wiring in common with the turn signal, they all meet inside one set of contacts within the hazard switch.

If it were only one side, I would lean towards the switch is playing up. :)

But seeing as none of them are working, I would check the fuse first (just for good measure) then I would check the flasher can.

I reckon the contacts in it are burnt out and have 'welded' together which is why they do not work anymore. :)

Start with the basics first and go from there mate.

hazard switch is my guess. take the ashtray out, unscrew the 2 little screws you see under it, slide the console plate forward and you can get to the wires under the switch. I had my left front go out and all i had to do to fix it was push the connectors on snug and it fixed the issue.

when my turn signals died, it was the flasher relay. And the first symptom also was erratic clicking for some time. I would try this first, because it's the easiest possibility. Done in two minutes.

But be aware - many are not - that we have six flasher bulbs. Four at the rear and two front. The relay must be capable of handling this.
I have installed a relay for trailer mode.

    Best Regards from Germany

I had the same issue recenty with my turn signals. Neither of them worked. If the hazards work, it's not the relay. I think the brake lights are on the same fuse (I'm going by memory here, and I could be wrong), so if they work current is flowing through the fuse properly. People told me it was the hazard switch also, so I jiggled it around a bit, flipped it on and off, still didn't work. At that point I was starting to think about getting into the column switch (which really looks like a pain), but decided to revisit the hazard switch. After moving the switch on and off about 20 times the signals worked perfectly!

    Good luck!

Hi, guys. When I switch on the hazards, only the right side flashes (front and back).....switch problem? My left turn signal also started flashing rapidly today, so I'm going to do the full sweep of flasher/bulbs as well.

I had the rapid flashing of the indicator happening this weekend, on the left side. It was a bad bulb. I picked up replacement Sylvania 1156 bulbs at the auto parts shop.
