Would it be worth is to pick up one of these cheap cambiocorsas and converting it to gransport specs (or better?) or just pick up a GS? is there "better" for the maser or not really unless you want to spend more then the cars worth on mods?

At the current pricing, I think just pick up a GS. There are a lot of differences besides 5HP.

The CC can be brought up to the level of the GranSport's handling - even power - for relatively little money. I am talking springs, swaybars, ECU, pipes, etc. But if you want the CC to be a GranSport - then you can't buy a CC cheap enough to make up the cost spread.

Coupes generally handle better than the equivalent Spyder - thus they are a better track day vehicle. But Spyders "feel" better. :)

Objectively, though, the level of cowl shake and steering column vibration intrusion is unacceptable for any open top car built in the 21st century. So I guess it is a good thing that this platform is from the Nineties. However, the upside is that with the sun in your face, wind in your hair, and a Ferrari motor barking thru a pair of Tubis - a lot can be forgiven.
