Can someone tell me if this is a problem? Think I read somewhere that this was something you should not do but can’t seem to find anything about it in this forum.

I have put the car on stands for the winter projects but need to check the radio connections etc. Did the mistake to turn on ignition when the instrument housing was off last year and ended up with a air bag light...
BTW: it is an F1 if that has anything to do with it.

In my opinion, and just an opinion, I don't see the harm in this since the tranny will be in neutral only.

You should post this question in "Technical" section, you may get a better variety of responses.

    cheers

I don't see why it could be a problem.
You will get the suspension light if you switch on the car several times but that's normal and will solve itself when the car will move later on.
    Nothing else IMO ...

So i tried it last night... Every seems to be ok and i get the suspension light as I expected.

Another thing I noticed is that I dont get the gear indicator light while the ignition is on. While turning it off I can se that "N" neutral is selected but not when ignition is on, does the F1 system cense that the car it is off the ground?

This goes back to the Rolls Royce and Citroen suspensions of the 1970's. If you started the engines on those cars when the wheels were off the ground, the hyudralic suspension systems would go nuts and the reservior would literally explode.
