Hi Everyone, Wow, what a great event! I have so many pictures and no idea where to start, so here's a few. I'll start with a shot from the hill of the whole place. Birdman
The incredible 250 GTO, worth Gold knows how many millions of dollars. This is the one that "lives" up at KTR Motorsports in Ayer.
If you like carburetors, here is the engine of a 512 BB (no i on there!) This is carbs all the way baby!
FChat's own "Zan" was there with his way cool 1999 Lamborghini Diablo special edition. (I got a ride in this thing at the KTR event a couple weeks ago and this thing is seriously fast).
I know the guy who drove it up to the award thing, it is worth 9 million about and is owned by a 65 year old new york lady!
Trying to narrow down the SN on the GTO. I can find only three cars that have RHD, 3 slots behind the front wheels, the non 1964 body style, and other visual keys. 3767 GT 3729 GT 3647 GT I lean towards 3729, as it was a #11 at one point in its life, based on photos in Pourett's book. But the match is not quite right and the car was in Great Britain. Comments?
3647GT according to the KTR info sheet. born 06/08/1962. http://douging.smugmug.com/photos/popup.mg?ImageID=4479757&Size=Large doody.
Thanks!! Unless it has sold very recently, this has been with the same owner (James McNeil) since 1967.
Wow, looks like there was a great turnout. I am sorry I missed it. The weather actually held out for the event. Who won best of show? I also had the pleasure of seeing zan in his '99 Diablo Saturday night in traffic near Boston common turning onto Tremont. What a sound and what a gorgeous car!
Yes, i believe McNeil still owns it. Was not on the showroom floor at KTR this morning when i picked up the 308 as i believe they raced it (or it was at a show) this past weekend.
I believe that the 250 GTO is still owned by the McNeil family. In fact, there was a profile of Sandra McNeil, (standing, if I recall correctly, next to a Cobra), in the Sunday, September 29, 2002 New York Times Magazine. According to the article, she actively campaigns the GTO on the vintage racing circuit. If you want serial number information, I would suggest that you move the thread to the Vintage section and I am sure that Old Guy, Wayne or NNO will chime in. Cheers.
nice pics. it was raced somewhere the day before the show, then at the show. i think they said the next race would be monteray historics.
Scott from KTR said that the whole company was at Lime Rock for something on Saturday. Then the truck drove back; they slept a few hours; then loaded the truck at 5am on Sunday with cars for the Tutto Italiano.
You should have come. All the proceeds go to the benefit of the Larz Anderson Auto Museum. There were almost 200 Italian cars on display and almost 2000 spectators.
