In the past I've watched those cop shows from NZ and USA and thought "oh my god, what a bunch of idiots over there" I just watched highway patrol. I'm embarrassed. We have the same idiots here!
That blond lass in the ads seriously has an attitude problem. Typical pull on the light blue shirt and I'm God syndrome.
Seven unveils 7Two digital channel By Ty Pendlebury on 23 October 2009 Seven has announced the details of its new digital channel called 7Two which begins broadcasting next month and will feature a mix of new run series and "old favourites". 7Two will begin broadcasting on 1 November 2009 on digital channel 72 (Seven Two, geddit?) and will be the first place to see the new series of Ugly Betty, Heroes, Lost and 24. The rest of the channel's programming will include the "very best of British television", themed nights including Action & Adventure, Lifestyle and Movies, and cooking programs from the likes of Jamie Oliver. While Nine is rumoured to be courting Top Gear, 7Two will broadcast the "other" UK motoring show Fifth Gear. Seven has been running a teaser all week on channel 72 with echoes of Gough Whitlam: "It's Time".
Bit of a shocking ending. Don't like the tagline though. It's not just up to riders, it's up to driver to actually look around for once as well. Which is why the only good ad TAC has made for a long time (I have a huge problem with the TAC) was the one which swapped the driver and the rider to show how much we have to look out for. This one is basically just saying we ride like tools and it's our fault if anything happens (which to a point is true)
I ride every day in heavy peak hour. The only time i have had incidents in traffic was when i would sit there and cruise with the cars. No one ever looks, they just merge. When i am my normal evil self, i don't have any issues. I figure it is due to the drivers peripheral vision picking up movement of a bike swerving. I guess the brain switches on and knows something is there??
Funnily enough, I have had EXACTLY the same experiences. I have had one close call while lane splitting, but while just riding, I get cars merging into me all the damn time, pulling out blah blah blah.
If you're a Michael Jackson fan (or even 1/2 a one) go and see this is it. see it at imax!! very enjoyable.
