Just got a new TV. From reading about it, the TV has PIP but the remote doesn't provide for it. Some fellow owners recommend URC R50, others the Harmony One. Anyone with experience with either?

I use the Harmony 1100, but I'm not sure if it is still a current product. Setup is simple and it is very capable.

I've been using a Harmony One remote now for probably 6-ish years and other than having to replace the battery twice (once under warranty, and once literally a month ago with a $10 replacement off of amazon), it's been rock solid. Relatively easy to program after a little tweaking.

I like the size and the fact that it still has physical buttons. I'll never move to a "tablet" remote simply because it requires you to look down to do even the basic functions.

Unfortunately, the H One is now discontinued so if this one ever dies completely I'm going to have to find a replacement.

I prefer to have 4-5 controllers sitting in view at all times. I think I have a drawer full of them as well, for which I have no idea which piece of equipment they are for.

There should be an Apple & Android app, so people over 45 could read the displays.

(Yes, I know of the Remote for apple tv)

    Now back to our topic...

I used to program custom remotes and wallpads at previous jobs doing home theatre and A/V distro and there are remotes that exceed 1K! And these are remotes that the end user doesn't even program, but are set up with custom graphics and the whole 10 yeards of options.

I don't think I know anyone that's ever used PIP.

Done quite a few 'Pic-by-Pic' setups as I call it... Multipule TVs next to each other in media rooms for sports fanatics & day traders.

I used to use it all the time, but with time-shift, it's just not needed anymore. Watch one thing, record the others, and watch them later.
