The customs seized Dino replica mentioned in another thread appears to have twin plug ignition, but it looks to me like an otherwise standard 246 engine.
    Any ideas?
I looked at a terrible TZ1 replica last year in the US that had a fake twin plug set up with one set of plugs doing nothing. Could this be the same?

The Sheehan rep looks quite well made, and the close up of the heads seem like genuine twin plug castings. If so who made them?

The heads on the 206P (or is it 206S?) in your link are very similar to the ones on Sheehan's replica, with small casting differences. Probably the same as the ones on the seized car.

It seems amazing that someone would make an inexact replica and use really rare parts like that, but maybe there were a stock of them around at the time. I'd love to get my hands on a pair.

There was someone in Italy-maybe Modena that had some of those engines. The name Brambilla or something similar to that comes to mind.

I bought some 206F2 engines/parts that were ex Minardi via Peter Sachs. They are the mid 70s 4 valve injection engines based on the FIAT block. Are you thinking of those? .
If not I would love to know more about the fate of the 206P (or S) engines.

Having a senior moment, but I recollect that some of the Stratos's had twin plug heads. Perhaps it is old-timer's disease.

Twin plug heads were only tested, never used in competition. Too complex for too little to no added value since ignition did make a few advances in the meantime.

If anyone is looking for twin plug Dino heads I know someone that has 2 and might be willing to sell.

Mine are 206 and that's a 166, but otherwise very similar. I was told I think that it was fitted in a hillclimb 206S. Hans van Ingen Schenau (Italparts) had it for sale, maybe still does?

Did the Stratos run 4 valve heads?

Yes, no twin spark though, they did experiment with it but the extra complexity was not worth it.
