Haha , thats a good one, and id love to take your money, but it would be easier for you to ship your bike here to Maui, and i say we go for alittle more cash. Make it worth my while. Just think, if you win, you could buy a real car!

Man, a fool and his money are easily parted. You cant possibly be that STUPID.

I have been very happy with my quick and snappy 308. The car was built by James Patterson in 03 personally and is a solid car. I do not know what ax allanlambo has to grind with NORWOOD? Its amazing how someone can comment on something that they have never owned or driven. Absolutely ****ing amazing!

More importantly, I cannot say enough about James Patterson and his customer service. All the folks at Norwood Performance have been exceptionally kind and generous in this regard. The car speaks for itself. In apperance and performance. Enough said. NORWOOD PERFORMANCE did exactly what I wanted.

In fact, Bob Norwood personally tuned my car as it accumulated more than 200 miles on the dyno making it right. He only charged me for 4 hours and spent considerably more time on my car! Thank you Bob!

Things like this you won't find in any magazine article!

    Happy New Year,

    Paul

To me California sounds avbout 1/2 way. Sure, lets put some real money on it. You name the stakes. Unless you are a coward?

With high enough stakes and your supreme confidence, it should be worth it to ship the car to California. So what do you say now, big mouth?

No, That is called 'boost threshold'. Lag is the time it take to go from ambient pressure to full boost when the motor is already being spun above the boost threshold.

348turbo, I dont know how much riding expirience you have but to get et's like that on a bike , it takes TONS of skill. Hope it's worth ruining a good pair of boots ;)

Thanks Luke. Yes, I have quite a few years of riding. I am fully prepared to smoke his Lambo in front of everyone.

I think we are arguing on semantics somewhat and you’ve taken the quote incompletely. Yes, boost threshold is the rpm where, with the throttle fully open, the manifold pressure will become positive. Yes, “Lag is the time it take to go from ambient pressure to full boost when the motor is already being spun above the boost threshold.”, which implies the engine is being run at partial throttle (cruising), then the throttle is fully open. My statement “Lag is the time from when the throttle is open to when boost is available so there is no way to show it on a dyno graph, at least that I know of.” When read in its entirety, says that what is shown on the graph is not lag, lag is not shown on any dyno graph nor can it be.

You guys have all read Corky Bell's book too many times!

    LOL!

While maybe not technically correct, most people think of "lag" as being defined by that rpm at which full boost is reached.

Damm engineers, see how we are :)

I don’t mind boost threshold, but lag is a pet peeve of mine. I tend to stick to positive displacement blowers which have neither a boost threshold nor any detectable lag, have a look at my profile pic and link.

Allan - I say put up or shut up. After all your talk over the years, now's your chance. You have declined races in the past where you had to brake and make a turn. This one is just in a straight line. Right up your alley eh? Why have that fancy car with Nitrous if you aren't prepared to accept a challenge?

I say California is fair. I live in California, I would love to see that race.

    Jeff,
As long as it's going to be on Allan's dime anyway, maybe it's time for a vacation to Maui??? They must have a drag strip out there and it seems like the last of the excusess :)

LOL! Lets see, im in Maui, and it cost me over 20,000 to ship 2 cars here, and you think its FAIR for me to pay that to ship the car to Cali and then ship it back? LOL

Again, at what point in time did i say i could beat an R1 in the quarter? I said on a roll, from highway speeds, i will definatley take the R1. Which i will easily do.

Please, all you guys cant possibly be that naive to think that modded cars cannot beat bikes?

In Ft Lauderdale, on Friday nights every week, 100's of bikers get together, and then go out onto the lesser traveled highways, and roads, such as Chrome Ave, and run flat out. When i used to have my Porsche, all we would do is race them. None, expect a turbocharged GSXR, could beat us.

I can understand 348Turbo being stupid enough to believe this, as his Modded car is obviously a pitiful $hitbomb and obviously would get outrun by a childs 5hp go-cart, but please.... get real.

Cute. So How about a race in Maui? I frequently visit Oahu, and know a few people who live in Maui. I'll post one of my other chat groups, (SBN), and see if there is anyone in Maui would like to make a few easy grand. Roll on or not, the R1 will easily destroy your piece of **** Lambo.
