The 456M would be a more refined and pleasant daily driver...even with Tubi exhaust. Surprisingly, it doesn't get near as much attention (despite the noise) as the ZR1. None the less, it would be a difficult decision...however, I would gladly take 2 456M's, slightly used of course, for the price of one brand new ZR1. Any repairs or maintenance might change my mind after a couple years though.

I only wish I had such choices to make...

Interesting point you make. I'd love an F-car daily driver. Now with prices where they are why not?

I would take a ferrari over a vette any day of the week and twice on sunday!

Mass produced fiber glass. Applaud the performance and heritage but on looks alone, a vette is still a vette...same goes for a mustang....yes I know the zr1 is special and night and day differance from vette and z06 but ave joe is still going to call it a vette.

Does future value matter? Presumably so, so the 456M. If not, ZR1.

Dissenting vote here, I would take the ZR-1 based on performance, refinement, technology and most importantly maintenance costs. Having said that, the 456 is a terrific looking car with a nicer interior, but the ZR-1 is my personal pick.

You can get 41,371 Trabants for the price of a ZR-1...a different daily driver every day for the rest of your life and then some.

456mgt thank you very much...but i am biased of course...

you have 18'' 575 wheels on there; what size spacers did you put in back, and in front (if any) ?

This isn't even a close call, the Ferrari by a long shot. And I don't need two 456's...I'll get a 355 spider instead of the second 456.

taz was advising i get the same but i think your rears sit just a hair proud of the rear wheel arch, maybe i should get the 15 mm ones instead. or is that just a misperception in the photo?

I'd definitely go with one 456M GT and keep the rest of the difference for running costs, or maybe purchase a nice 928 GTS to drive on other days of the week with the what's left over. You can't go wrong with a 456M GT and a 928 GTS. They are both two of the greatest GTs of all time.

Viewed from the front and directly above the center of the rear wheel arch, the wheels are just flush with the body. The 15mm spacers will require longer lug bolts and thus additional stress on those bolts. The 25mm spacers bolt to the hub itself and then the wheels bolt to the spacers using the same lug bolts you presently have. I definitely think the 25s are the way to go.

Im going have to agree w/ Senna here.

BTW the Vette has more CF than fiberglass and the leather is not prone to shrink.

No spacers on the front, so we used the old lug bolts.
