What does everyone think of this? It was parked in a car park off the M25. I think it looks great. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Really Nice! I've always preferred the early 2 door model over the 4 door family wagon but this new one is so much better! Too bad they'll never import it over here.
A Range Ruster is a Range Ruster, no matter how many doors it has. I would be more concerned if the differential failure rate issue has been resolved or not. There are too many good SUVs on the market to pick a rr.
So is beer can and they way they have so many problems maybe the drivetrain is also. With fuel prices an reliability issues here across the pond, sales have plummeted. American steel over recylced lager cans any day of the week.
Wicked, but cannot compete with a Chevrolet Captiva, Wrangler Jeep or Escalade LOL LOL, I don't think LOL
I don't know about the Chevy or Jeep, but I have never seen an Escalade on the side of the road or being towed. When the tow truck driver came from rr to pick up my rr on the side of highway 183 in Irving, I asked him how often he had to pick up range rovers. He laughed and said it was 50% of his business. It is staggering to me that anyone would risk the safety of their family and send them out on a "motorway" in such an unreliable POS. If you want to get rid of your spouse, send her out in a range ruster. Second choice , but by a very close margin, put her in a Maserati BiTurbo without a fire extenguisher.

What is really interesting ,the thread for UK regarding " which dog to get" has four times the post and the amount viewed than this one regarding range rovers. More people on F Chat are more interested in dogs than rrs.
toyota landcruiser amazon is the best 4x4 on the road believe me i have had them all the only thing that the range rover is good at is depreciation and needing money spending on it all the time
I agree, Amazon is the perfect tool for the more frugal amongst us, lovely interior and engine too, totally in keeping with the price.
sold my range rover yesterday and my mercedes ML but kept my amazon Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
What is really interesting is that so far one third of the posts on this thread are yours, so you must be really interested in Range Rovers....
Just the opposite, I am educating those that have never owned a rr as to what an unreliable POS they are. They day I had to go pick up my wife and son on the side of a highway ( the differential failed without warning in the middle of traffic) I decided enough was enough ( three major problems in 6 months of ownership). Go look in a rr owners forum and read the threads. It is amazing to me that the US actually allows them to be imported, and gives a 959 a hard time.
I'm still a fan of the Defender 90 series, it amazes me they still hold a high resale compared to other Rover products. Is there a reason why?
On the contrary Dr. John, your education ended when you allowed your personal opinions and bias into your argument. You had one vehicle with a bad experience. Happends in every brand. Now if you would have said you have had a bad experience with your Range Rover for these specific reason it would have been acceptable. But I would imagine that a huge number of people on this forum have Range Rovers, including myself, and who believe that the are great vehicles. Granted the Land Rover brand has never been known for their reliability and I do not know one person who buys it for such. But I would argue that you purchased yours knowing that they are vehicles that need attention, but you still purchased one. So before you point your finger at a brand who does not advertise reliability, turn it around and realize you had a choice before you purchsed, and we are all responsible for our actions.
i too like the defender 90's but the range rovers do indeed have a bad rep for reliability, and as one of the first posts says.......the toyota landcruiser is the one to own(mine is a 1996 80 series with front/rear lockers)
Thanks for supporting my statement. I now grant you a diploma. With this new found knowledge, go out into the world and trade your unreliable albatross in on a car that will safely navigate you and your family on the roads of life. You are welcome.
