The first is auctioned by RM Auctions (USA): AM115.S.1177 1970 Maserati Ghibli Spyder | Amelia Island 2014 | RM AUCTIONS The second is auctioned by Artcurial (France): AM115.S.1005 Rétromobile 2014 & Solo Alfa by Artcurial Motorcars - Sale N° 2400 - Lot N° 328 | Artcurial | Briest - Poulain - F. Tajan Looks like both cars have new interiors, but what baffles me is the first car (offered by RM Auctions) which has some nasty new things in it totally out of period. I mean its a damn Ghibli Spyder, worth a small appartment so, can't they find a proper volt thing? or a period stereo?...
Agreed. t is very disappointing to see Ghiblis at auction with so many things that are clearly wrong. How hard is it to fit a proper radio, gauge, mouse hair dash, etc? I feel like yelling to the owner ... it is a Ghibli spyder ... put some effort!! Ivan
Often people like to leave their own mark/style on a car because it's theirs and they're using it for a while. It's not the end of the world, it could be far worse and the car will suffer somewhat in price for it. But these aren't temples or icons to be worshiped gentlemen. i saw a very nice looking Ghibli coupe this summer at Saratoga NY that magnificently finished in very tasteful color choices the only thing obviously wrong was the all leather dash. I guess some people have an aversion to the mousehide ... At least he didn't do this ... Maserati Quattroporte Leather | eBay That's a lot of red in that car from Saratoga, I suspect it's not a correct color. Now that truck next to it ... that's a lot of whittling. I had a nose job when I was 15 (30 years ago) and I think I have been more desirable since. So in my case the original was worse.
More like Rivolting You know it's gong to be a interesting day when they place your car next to a wooden truck
