    Hi guys
I'm getting 1454 error code with slow down. Drivers side bank. It goes in and out of limp mode while city driving within 10 min. It usually flickers when I hit the brakes. Comes back when I take off. Some times it'll flicker when I use the left turn signal.

    Second issue
Alarm light stays on when I unlock the car or dis engage the immobilizer. While driving it stays on, drivers side window stays slightly cracked.

    Thank

Many threads about the alarm light (sounder probably needs replacing) and a few about the code (search on p1454 - could be as simple as ECU earth) may give a hint as to issues

Hi I bought a new siren for this issue. I am still plagued with 1454 and shut down on the drivers side bank. Can someone please help me out diagnose this issue? I took it to a dealer and they can't recreate the issue.

Can someone explain What causes left turn signal to flicker Slow down? Once that happens and I hit the brakes it goes solid and kills the bank. Give gas and runs on all 8. It goes in and out.

Parts replaced Ecus, thermo coupler,. I hate this freaking problem!! It's pissing me off now!

I also had test pipes installed to combat this issue with no luck..I switched back to OEM Cats.

With Test pipes, why would a bank shut down?

Alarm light = get new module IMHO

Flickering left sided slowdown with a left sided turn signal = not fun. Suggests that there is a short in the mix. You can check and clean the ground for the left sided turn signal. Wiring diagram says it should be behind the left rear wheel. if not that then there are a few places the power is shared between the turn signal and other elements. There is also a few connectors that might be loose to suggest loss of contact with braking..

    Good luck.. :(

    Thanks Curt,
This happens after I drive it for about 10 mins. If there was a short, wouldn't the SDL flicker if i use the left turn single during cold start up? But Why would it shut down the bank breaking?

What the thermistor does as I understand it.. is it provides a source of variable resistance that is read by the vesicovini boxes. As the cats heat up, the resistance will change (I want to say heat up but can't remember the properties of the material). At normal operating temp the resistance is a value "X". When the resistance changes beyond this above a value "Y", the vesicovini boxes detect this and send a signal that shuts down the bank. Once things cool, the resistance goes below the threshold and the vesicovini boxes stop telling the engine to cut out.

If the circuit was 100% isolated, turning on the turn signal would have no effect on the functioning of the boxes. That is does, and you've replaced all the components.. suggests to me there may be a short in their somewhere. That's what I'm thinking. Could be a ground is heating up or the short diminishes the theshold of the SDL.

I'm just thinking out loud here. New components were used in the changeout?

Yes new were used. I'm even more lost now..lol. If problem is real (cats heating up and shutting down the bank) I'd understand, but why would it shut it down on test pipes? I'm thinking there's a loose wire or ground somewhere..My cats do not glow.

    Question
I'm trying to isolate the problem by doing the following test.

If I unplug the thermocouple tip and drive it around and slowdown/shut down happens, does that mean the problem is not real and it's related to either loose wires or grounds?

With this test if the slow down/shut down is cured, that tells me my problem is real and unburnt fuel is dumping into my cats?

    Thanks

    Update:
My slow down shut down issue has been resolved and passed emissions. Tested over 100 miles, so far it's running solid. It was loose connection on the drivers side cat ecu! I drove my baby all weekend long and she is running smooth, also replaced the siren..
