Now I have tried again.... I do not draw much these days But just had to play with some Enzo's... hope you like them!! Sorry the photos are not very good... I have a lousy cam Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
marvellous!! i love the high contrast look... wow... charcoal.. how do you control the smudging? i remember that no matter how much i covered up what i had drawn, somehow it still happened.. Very well done. Congrats! GT
Me like mucho! I love it how you pen down realisticly looking subjects with seemingly just a few strokes. Amazing.
I absolutely love the first one... its great, love your style. Did you do the Enzo freehand or did you have some pics/stencil/whatever?
I work my way through the drawing from ONE side to the other Placing my hand on a blank piece of paper.... and after I have finished I use a normal eraser to remove those few fingerprints I have managed to get there.... ow and I use a brush (for painting) to remove the dirt after erasing...without touching the charcoal (and then add some fixative in the end)
Thanks a lot Freehand looking at photo I cannot remember every corner of a car (no i'm not getting old.. just don't remember very well ) And to make it easier I use charcoal PENCILS they can make thinner lines...
If I may ask - did the drawings come out right straight away or did you have to erase/redo bits as you went along? I'm just not familiar with charcoal and wondered how the process looked from this point of view.
If I make errors I have to start over.... you cannot erase charcoal lines... at least not with my erasor But if it's a small error... you can usually hide it, because YOU don't know what I wanted the drawing to look like in the first place
I have made a few more, if interrested.... look at www.sognidiferrari.com under the link: ART.... at the bottom of the site. (I have showed them here in showroom once... but can't find the thread)
Heh.. clever that. Well, I must say you did a great job if those came out that way without any significant corrections being made. I admire (and envy) the talent I just searched there, but only 4 of your pieces. Do you have anymore that you could share with us? Automotive art preferred (by me )
I don't get a picture right the first time every time I have only those four... before that I normally was drawing with pencils and acrylics only and never car related But my hubby talked me into drawing cars. So unfortunately I have no more to show... for now
And BTW... I envy you the way you control INK What do you use??? Do you have a picture of your tools? I would love to try ink some day instead of charcoal.... yes... because of the dust
You WILL have more soon... its a must EDIT - I think if you loosely added some colour to those drawings they would look amazing.. Even more amazing, I mean
I have thought about the colors... but i'm not sure what to use for it Ow I AM drawing a new one right now.... but probably not very exciting... (a cat for a friend... in the same way as the Ferraris)
You should do more drawing because you're every bit as talented as Carsten I love your minimalist style, it's just so simple yet so moody
Thanks a lot !!!!! That comment meant a lot to me! (because you hit my "soar spot" as we say in Denmark)
The large ones are done with india ink and brushes. The watercolour/ink renderings are waterproof ink markers. Ive never found completely waterproof india ink... every one bled at least a little bit & i find that annoying - ruins the drawing and the colour in one stroke... The pens are usually black.. sometimes i use brown for a different look. I'll take a pic for you.. GT
Thanks a lot And it looks like the paper you are using does not absorb a lot!! like it have a hard surface????
Can't you see it's black ?? hmm okay here is a black one for you Carbon Image Unavailable, Please Login
