Hi … So as some of you know my turn is coming up for the 812 GTS and I’ve been struggling deciding on a spec. From day one, which was about a year and a half ago when I was put on the waiting list, I have been refining my first color choice which is Verde Abetone. Over the last few weeks I have been increasingly drawn to Grigio Alloy and the idea of creating a more elegant spec. Both colors are somewhat rare in the 812 GTS, in fact despite Alloy being a standard color I have yet to locate a picture of another existing one. Not that it matters a lot but I do like the idea of doing something both beautiful and unique without being over the top, and both specs provide that. Thanks to a helpful member I was able to reach out to the Park Ave store and they were kind enough to squeeze me into an Atelier appointment on very short notice earlier today as I happened to be in the city anyway for a dealer Purosangue reveal last night. During this meeting I refined my Abetone spec and created an Alloy spec … and now all that’s left is me choosing between the two. I will obviously decide which I will favor but I would like to get your opinions and preferences, if only because it’s fun to discuss. Keeping in mind that renderings don’t fully capture the actual color … Abetone spec which has no exterior cf, matte CDF wheels with yellow calipers, painted shields, black exhaust tips. Interior in black with green leather accents including piping on seats and doors, cf steering wheel/paddles/center tunnel, yellow tach Abetone dream lines on paddles, wheel, and gear buttons. Again, not looking for you guys to decide for me, I just thought it would be fun to include my fiat bretheren into the process.
i much prefer the grey car with silver stripe. plus: silver wheels silver calipers painted shields leather seats to match the silver stripe color. with charcoal grey center stripe and piping. charcoal grey carpet. minimal carbon fiber interior in gloss. no suede
I really like green, it's just so elegant. But not the non metallics and the greens that are so dark they are almost black. The 812 would look lovely in a historic V12 colour like Pino Verde. I'm not a fan of the fancypants stripes on V12s, they are more suited to the mid engined "racecar" Ferraris. The GTS is a classy cruiser. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Before today I'd have said Verde Abetone, however having seen both above I also much prefer the Grigio Alloy. A part of this is the Carbon exterior which really makes the GTS more expensive looking. Do you spend the budget on paint or Carbon ?
I once saw a F430 in that same Grigio Alloy and it was breathtaking. I have never seen that color again but it is one that I will forever admire. I am not crazy of the verde, yes unique but something that I would get tired of looking at. That Grigio Alloy shows the lines exquisitely which needs to be shown on a GTS.
FF currently for sale in the UK in Grigio Alloy..... https://www.pistonheads.com/buy/listing/14046409
Both nice, you can't go wrong with the green or the grigio. For me the verde abetone with more carbon outside and inside, the matte cf fits very well. Most important, you are away from these black rims. I will never understand the hype with black rims. Oh man, i wish i would have this "problem". But I'm 100% happy with my 2 horses. Daniel
Normally they should produce this film once again with an 812 GTS. I'm sure, if they had got a Daytona Spider they would took the open version for this film. Daniel

Green, because I’ve seen 2 green GTS’s and they are fantastic. Pretty sure the ones I’ve seen were verde zeltweg. Either way, you’ll end up with a great car.
I think if you want a silver car, get a silver car. But don't get a bluish silver car. It's too feminine.
I agree with you totally… but I am biased as I’ve ordered one in pretty much this colour. I prefer the interior in tan.
Between these two I prefer the Grigio Alloy spec. Since you asked for input/ opinions/ these are mine: Regarding cars, I usually prefer some contrast between the exterior and interior . Your GA car has that, the VA car does not- both are dark. I also prefer a lighter interior for an open car. And finally, I try to avoid black when possible with Ferrari because they are special cars and they offer so many wonderful leathers- black can be had in any car. Again, this is just my opinion. My input on your specs would be as follows: Metallic vs flat paint- as a general rule, metallic helps you see the lines better, helps give better definition to edges. Lighter vs darker is also similar. Thus, I'm not entirely surprised you took a look the lovely Verde Abetone color and wanted a second opinion for the GTS. Thats because the 812 shape, in both SF and GTS forms, is fairly large, and a touch round. It has some nice creases and lines, but, I think, sensitive to color choice. A darker, flat color will lose some to most of the areas of definition and thus, you are left looking at a larger car shape. I think that's what's happening with your VA choice. The GA is lighter and metallic, and thus, will give you a better sense of the cars details. Sometimes a light color on a car will make it look bigger, but in this case, I think the lighter color will help you see the creases and negative space of the shape. Verde Abetone is a really nice color, but I would agree with the others that it might not be quite the best fit for the GTS. I think if you want to go with green then something just a little lighter and likely metallic. The metallic will help with a darker shade. I would skip the yellow calipers and go with silver wheels with silver, black or grigio silverstone calipers would work great. The green is a classy color and the dark wheels are a bit too sporty/ trendy. It's not that they don't go at all, but I think the silver wheels work better with a darkish green. Carbon is entirely your choice, but I don't think it's necessary. And I think the same for the interior. For the interior I would be tempted to mix in tan/natural (cuoio) color. From the standard colors Id be looking at Beige Traditional for the seats and lower dash and maybe door inserts. I can see you want to do the green highlight lines, and that does work well against the black. You could do the green against the black upper and steering wheel and also against the beige, I think it would work, though I would probably not do it on the seats. I'd do black horses on the headrests. Grigio Alloy spec is really nice. Generally I think the GTS is not a car for a stripe, thats for the specials, but the color and the shape work well with the stripe. It gives it a touch more sportiness against a pretty color. Interior I might actually leave the black upper/ steering wheel, or Blu Sterling or Carta da Zucchero for the upper areas/ steering wheel, along maybe Cuoio for the lower dash, seats, door inserts. Personally I dont see the need for any carbon on these cars but if you like it, get it. Anyway you know what they say about opinions - good luck with the spec and getting the car, its very special!
Agree with you 100% -below are TM three renders for my GTS which should be in production anytime now. This is supposed to be Verde Francesca with matte green carbon inside and out. The tan peccary in the interior is much lighter in reality. I think you need the lighter colours inside and out particularly as it’s a GTS. Wouldn’t be much fun getting into the car on a hot sunny day with dark seats either. Unfortunately the renderings don’t show the true colours but there are enough Verde Francesca images in these forums. Here it is on 2 cars, it looks much lighter on the scond photo in the brighter light, which I like. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I like the mix of the Francesca with the matte green carbon. There are two green carbons - I don’t like the olive one!
