Should we start the thread here, or down in the Texas Section? Mods feel free to relocate/merge if needed. Tickets sales are now open, at COTA with contests to win FREE packages. Brittany is losing weight, and looking pretty sharp, new BF seems to agree with her. Ticket sales to the FCA Hill Country Chapter Reception Dinner are NOT YET open, as Andy Fish is on safari in Africa (photo only but check out his FB page for some AMAZING shots!!)...I will monitor that and let you know the details (my tickets FIRST! no crowding, get back in line!!!) This thread is to coordinate any needs you may have in Austin, schedule a pick up in my black Cadillac, ticket swaps, BBQ/dinner advice, concert/entertainment schedules, general mayhem. I may need a 'Ride Share' from the Louisiana Chapter, picked up in Baton Rouge......someone with room in the car, or the Lear... ...she does not take up much space!! Maybe 110 pounds, maximum... Let's see, what else?? Any questions or concerns??? To the World, WELCOME to Austin Texas!! Kind regards, Captain Mayhem
No questions... yet, just wanted to say I'm excited and always super proud to have F1 and COTA in Texas
Absolutely, I worked there for four years as a Volunteer, Red McCombs sent me a 'Thank You' letter....LOL! I was a "Turn 1 Wayfinder", working that Gate Entry which translated to showing the helicopter shuttled visitors, (or cute Euro babes) to their seats! By Day 3 of course, I was twiddling my thumbs, and knowing the 'Secret Knock' got to pretty much watch the race from any vantage!! You see the photos in my various threads....lots of the Staff recall my position and its a wonderful time. Last year, we had Enzo's secretary and she was an interesting person to shuttle around, texting Kimi the whole time....
This does get a little depressing... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Agree, but it would be even sweeter if Kimi pulled out a win there. Highly unlikely though with LH's record there.
FCA members and I suppose other interested parties, Andrew Fish advises tickets to the Reception are now available. This is a "Do not miss" party at the country club west of town, with dealer support on car displays....'nuff said! No, I don't have the link, or I would have posted it. It does sell out at capacity. Oh, I registered through to COTA website to Volunteer, that is open thru September 27, a good way to host if you are local, and get to see fun stuff!
BigTex, if you got time I'd like to chat. Live down in San Antonio. Thinking about volunteering on Friday and bringing my girls up on Sat/Sun. Bummed to see Kimi go, but here's to #5 and #7 locking out the front row. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
What is the best place to get good seats online? Ticketmaster(COTA) is already sold out f the upper rows for T15.
Wife and I are putting together last minute plans. This will be our first time at COTA. Any tips on best tickets to try and get? Places to stay this late in the game, etc etc....?
I ended up getting an apartment at the guild. Could not find great seats but ended up in the middle section turn 15. Good luck
Austin Craigslist will be very active, I had hoped we could get some ticket activity in here??!! Say what you need, anyone selling chimes in! I have a hottie in Cali with two VIP passes worth $$$$. But she wants to be paid in iTunes Cards!!! I started a thread in B&I, even Apple tells you NOT to use them that way!! First Match, now COTA tickets! Who can you trust!!?? But look on CL it will explode with PSL seats that are not being used. MandaRacing found some One Day Skybox seats in there, IIRC.. So I am either sitting in $2K seats, or losing $1200 to a scammer and working all three days as Guest Services. I think my Hooters Girl is coming this year from BR, LA.
PM me for my phone. There's a few hotels that do not get the pressure. But if I posted them, they would. There's budget places in Bastrop, or Smithville even. To the south there's Buda and New Bransfels (which is beautiful this time of year!) It's only the Austin Proper ZIP Codes that go bat sh&*^(&*t crazy...Lost Pines Resort in Bastrop is actually the closest place, and there's camping all around too. MandaRacing brought an RV which does make a good base when parked within COTA. I met and drove them around!
Those are actually great seats. After Orientation I will know more, but they have restlessly fiddled with the VIP Suites and even Grandstands every year. After I quit working it, I really did not pay much attention. This year I will have to learn it all to memory!! People want to TOP of 15 so they can look back and see the Turn 1 Hill,
OK let's see how my purchase goes, on a set of VIP tickets, using iTunes cards. This may top the Lamborghini on a Credit Card thread!! It's Go Time, ladies and gentlemen. Has the FCA Reception SOLD OUT? Andy caps it, at 200 couples IIRC.
