    My brother not only had 5 Reserve Grand Champions, but 2 RGC Steer and a RGC hog during his FFA "career" - two Uncles had about the same results. Me? A few years after these guys, I was a pretty bad shepherd. Raised 2 sheep, first of which was "put to sleep" because of irrepairable abcesses - feed was later determined to be too "hot." In other words, I did not create abcesses for my own or mutual pleasure between myself and aforementioned sheepish woolly one. It was substituted for by another, which I had to fatten up quickly before Fair. Needless to say, too high a fat to muscle ratio, while barely making weight meant it didn't even make auction, though was given a white ribbon - which means "get out of the showring now"/"pity." However, one guy bought it outright, gave it a little time to run some fat off, butchered it and gave us a leg.

    Now, rather than prepare it the time-honored way - shashlyk (greatest food ever) - Mom made "Mmmmmmmmutton." Worst lamb I ever had.
