Hello, my 348 brothers...just moseying on by from the Mondial coral. I was hoping somebody can answer my question. I know longevity may vary depending on a whole host of factors...but what is the 'typical' mileage you can expect out of the Tipo 119 before you have to rebuild the engine? Assuming of course that the regular maintenance is performed.... 75K 100K? 150K? 200K? Thanks in advanced guys...
I read in Forza magazine that one F355 had over 90k miles with only regular maintenance performed and major services. I know it is a different engine but it should help bookend your car with the many 100k mile 328's with no issues. I look forward to replies with more hands on experience. Robb
My 91 348ts has 68k miles on it. No rebuild yet but lots of modification on the engine like motec and ITBs. I used to take it to lots of track events. It is aging but still going strong.
that's great to hear! I mean anecdotally I always hear the phrase these engines are 'bulletproof' - but that can mean a lot of of things! Especially in the exotic world. I guess a better question is, around how many miles does the engine have when should one consider rebuilding/replacing the engine? (outside catastrophic failure of course) I'm also open the possibility that "mileage" may vary literally...and that there is no 'typical' mileage count where an engine is near its death bed.... Thanks again all.
Post #64 and #65 show 106,000 miles (back in 2008). http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/348-355-sponsored-bradan/184598-who-has-highest-mileage-free-%24100-gift-4-you.html
