Opinions please... I track my car once or twice a year, mostly used in dry conditions on the road and approx 2 - 3,000 miles a year... I would love to put cup 2’s on but that doesn’t make sense due to so little track time, so the next best is PS 4 or 4s I’m told... anyone have recommendations?

4S - they have a "homologation" by Michelin for the 458.

I’m on my third or fourth set of the Michelin 4s. They give very good feedback and improve steering feel. Excellent well-rounded tire in terms of wet and dry handling. The tread hold-ups nicely and lasts longer than the Pirellis.

Do they? Ferrari dealer told me this week that only the PSS has a Ferrari-spec. Same shows on TireRack as well.

Forgot to say that I’m putting the 4S’s on my car anyway. I have them on my M3 and had them on my F430. Fantastic daily tires!

I think a search would have shown you everyone who has the 4s loves them. Myself included. Unless you are looking for the ultimate lap time and want to replace your sport cup 2's before each track day (You'll heat cycle them out street driving them), I'd save the money and buy the 4s'. And maybe you'll get lucky and it'll rain during your track day and be able to run on a clear track while the Trofeo R's and Sport Cup 2 guys are stuck in the paddock.

Cup 2 tires NA in factory size of 458. Only have Speciale spec sizing for Cup 2.
Cup 2 tires will fit but there are reports of error codes that can be thrown due to sizing difference affecting the stability control readings.
    4S is a great tire

You can see, that the 458 is also mentioned. No translation neccessary. The letter says, that the 4S is allowed for the 458.
