    Hi all,

Just to check with fellow GT owners here whats the mileage done on your original Tyres before you need to replace them?

I am checking on this because my GT need it's front Tyres replaced at 15,000KM and at 15k km the inner side front tyres are exposing metal wires. I am running on the original birdcage 20" with P-zero Tyres. Basically never tracked and only city driving.

Hope to hear some advise from fellow owners here.

    Cheers,

    Leealfred

If you have inner tire wear this severe it is due to a alignment concern (Toe Out) common on these cars. Have your aligment shop reverse the factory specification so the car has slight toe in in the front rather then the toe out as specified in the technical documentation and you will get much better tire wear and you will not notice a difference in handling except it will likley track better in city streets. Particularly badly rutted roads.
    Good luck.

The fronts will last longer than the back but the Pirelli's only get about 4-6 thousand miles on the Gran Turismo due to their being as soft as cheese. I've got 6K on mine at the moment and looking for an alternative.

The car is heavy too but I'm thinking of going up in size from 285 to 295 on the back and from 245 to 255 on the front. This gives you more sizes/brands to choose from and a larger surface contact patch which slightly lessens the load per sq/inch on the tires.

When you get the replacements find a good alignment shop and they will optimize the setup, I notice most Gran Turismo's have a bit too much camber.

I am on my second Granturismo and have never had front tyres wear like that.
My current "S" has just under 30,000km's on it and the front tyres would be lucky to be 50% worn- I check EVERY time I wash the car.

I replaced the rear tyres at 23,000 km's and they were still road legal as they were not worn down to the tread wear indicators. I have had P-Zero's as standard fitment on both cars and they were both used as daily drivers and were never tracked.
