    I went out to Moody, Al, where Chris (a fellow Fchatter) has opened up U-DRIFT. You can drift around a road course which used to be a dealership parking lot. One good thing is they have rental cars you can use to drift, instead of your Ferrari. But you are welcome to bring your own car. They also have a go-cart track for the kids, as well as, free video games. It was great fun! I recommend it to every gear head. All the best to Chris for taking on this project. Thanks for a super time, Chris.

    It's on I-20 East, about 9-10 miles out from Birmingham.

    I believe it has already ceased operations...not sure, but I believe the city council never embraced the project. Too bad..sounded like a fun concept.

    The Moody location turned out to just be for 2009. New location coming for 2010, I hope!

    Yup. Withdrew my offer in 2008, I think. Dodged a real bullet there. Back when I made my offer they still had 109 shops open inside the mall. By the time I withdrew my offer they were down to 60 left. I was going to "commercial condo" the place with the tenants taking on the note instead of paying rent (they'd make mortgage payments). I had Merril Lynch lined up to finance the whole thing with me putting only $1MM down. But the #'s didn't work once they got below 65 tenants.

    GGP is crazy, thankfully. Now there is much cheaper commercial space available in higher population areas.

    I want to go. Can someone help me plan a trip here? It's about 7 hours from where I live, so I'd prefer to fly into a nearby airport. Anyone willing to meet up, give me a lift & go drifting???
