Jim, Alex, Eric, guys... I sold the 355....yes I made a S$10k profit. AND!!! I bot back another Maserati Coupe Cambiocorsa. Its Navy with beige/tan interior. Thats life for me....changed from the Testa for the sliver Maserati 3200 March03, sold the 3200 for the black Maserati coupe in Sep03, sold coupe for the 355GTS in Oct03, sold the 355 in Jan04 for a Maserati Navy blue coupe feb04.... my wife got a little upset...i wonder why? Women!!! best, lung
actually...its 3.5 years and it was the Testa. Had a 328GTS in 1998...well, that lasted about 9months. But I had a good reason for selling it...made good money on it. Wax, its the exotic cars that I don't keep long, all my other cars...BMW, Mercedes, Hondas' and Lexus are long term....I keep them for at least a year.
Makes sense - no emotional attachment and all that good stuff, kind of like sleeping around with beautiful women - without fear of diseases. Obviously you've been lured back to the Maserati time and again - I'd appreciate your thoughts on the Maserati Coupe as well as any speculation on how long it'll be before a Quattroporte makes it's way into your list.
wax, The Coupe... I like the F1 pedals... my Porsche club buddies think the cambiocorsa reacts very well too. e.g. I was driving back to KL from Singapore yesterday...not doing too fast about 160kmh...and suddenly 15meters ahead this idiot of a truck pulls out infront of me. I hit the brakes and downshift two gears. The Coupe just reacted so smoothly and quickly without sliding or shaking...what can I say. I could never have done that on my 355. I like its shape. Its a "rounder" Aston Martin. I like its interior...very leathery!! hahahaha I hate the fact that there are no cup holders. This is suppose to be a GT and there are no cup holders.
Jim, I never posted my 355 photos...so heres one with the potential nun. lung Image Unavailable, Please Login
arent cares hella expensive in singapore... The car tax is like 200% i heard.. whats the going rate on ferraris and maseratis over there
My Coupe is Navy blue...similar to the Quattropotte above. Yes car prices are very high. A new 360 Modena costs around USD470K. A new Maserati coupe goes for USD250k. What can I say? Yup they are expensive.
Congrats, Lung! You've got the right idea there...enjoy them all, and still turn a profit on them, right? Wow, the navy / tan interior sounds like a wonderful color combo...and the F1 tranny must really be fun. Did you go with any special options on the coupe? My wife still has her sights set on the Coupe Cambiocorsa, and wants to pay the dealership in Orlando a visit to try one on for size. She also has taken an interest in the upcoming C6 Corvette -- so who knows. Time will tell, I guess. BTW, I love the pic of your daughter with your 355...you must be proud!
quarter-mill for the maser - yikes! BTW - I thought the new coupes came with a cup holder... Anyway, congrats!
Hey Lung, while you're sticking with Italian pasta I went to the land of fish and chips. Sold my 348 and bought a Lotus Esprit....go figure! I'm also thinking of doing another P4 replica....similiar to Mark Collins ride with a 348 drivetrain. I was in SG a few months ago, shoulda drop you a note.....
Has anyone come up with a good solution for cupholders? Jim what do u do for coffee in the car? My wife loves the car but does complain to everyone about the cupholders. Asiabond, send me a PM before you next come to town. I'll try to post photos of the new car soon.
hi! I have to say a thing about cup holders...... do you mean those thing who keeps the coca-cola/beer bottles?? well, in Italy we just hate those things.... if you have fast, cornering roads, cup holders means coca-cola everywhere in your car.... we build cupholders in our latest cars just because Americans loves (needs...?) these things on cars bye lung, very glad to see you on a Maserati again, hope yuo'll have soon a Quattroporte (it means "four doors" in italian) in your garage.....(I hope there are cup holders on that sedan )
well, I think we have different ideas about coffee too in Italy coffee stays in very very very small cups..... but there's no chance. Maserati has tu put cupholders on his USA/export cars, you're surely right.
Lung You're right about the cup holders. My wife's Turbo Cayenne has them. Maybe that's why she likes it better than my car... Best
