    Hey,

So, I've been using Ubuntu 11.04 for quite a while now - Regular patches etc seems to keep it running well, even on my antiquated H/W (Pentium 4, 4gb).

It's been asking me to upgrade to 11.10 (?) for a while, but I haven't bothered. Now we have 12.?? available - It appears to have some "nice", if not essential, new features.

My "issue" is most of these things get "bloated" over time, and my H/W is *old* - Is it worth chasing the latest & greatest? Or should I be satisfied where I'm at already?

FWIW, the latest iteration will be used for Wordpress development / testing in a LAMP environment. Any insights / comments welcome.

    Cheers,
    Ian

If you dont *need* any new features, upgrade is a waste of time and on linuxes can be painful. If you need some cutting edge LAMP/other features, just get all sources for it from repositories, build and install yourself. It's really easy after first few times :)
