Cool video on youtube. Really shows the power of social media nowadays. Would be curious to know how much a proper restoration would cost on one of these nowadays.

My understanding is that there is a ridiculous asked price for a wreck located in an unsafe place...

Interesting car but personally I would not want an F40 with that history.

In the Middle East souk (market) mentality the price always starts at the top. You have to negotiate and work the seller down. Finding the car cannot be all that difficult. The problem is bribing all of the officials to permit the car to be placed on a ship, for export. You need someone familiar with the process to bribe the Iraqis. Best option is to pay an Iraqi by holding company after the item has been exported, to the West. Without knowing the process it takes to bribe the Iraqis, the effort to buy the F40 will probably end up going south. It is not a good idea to bring a small paper bag stuffed with $100 bills, to bribe all the different Iraqi officials along the way.

You can get a fine one with nice history from Germany for just around € 1,200,000

Probably the only F40 I would never want to own, and that is nothing to do with its current condition.

Yes its only metal and composite at the end of the day, but it was taken by force from its true and rightful owners, to be abused by someone who thankfully is no longer alive.

Really sad to see it trying to be driven around like while misfiring & sputtering, it's a 250k car tops.

Thank you, sirs, appreciate the info—a fascinating story.

I agree that the previous owner gives the car negative esteem. That said, many don't follow any existential/metaphysical beliefs, and it would only be symbolic - one could try to hide the fact.

As far as ROI, I am ignorant and defer to much wiser and experienced folks for restoration worthiness.

With the amount of work that car will need (hardly is going to have been stored in a bubble, has it!), it's worth 200K at best. Especially with Corona happening now lol.
