    Pick 'em for Friday night;

    UFC 141: Lesnar vs. Overeem
    Date: Dec 30, 2011
    Location: Las Vegas, Nevada
    Venue: MGM Grand Garden Arena
Broadcast: Pay-per-view, Spike TV and Facebook

    MAIN CARD (Pay-per-view)

Brock Lesnar vs. Alistair Overeem Overeem may very well be the best HW in the world. I can't see him losing to Brock.
Donald Cerrone vs. Nate Diaz Gotta go with the Cowboy! He's on a role as of late......
Jon Fitch vs. Johny Hendricks So hard to beat Fitch, and Hendricks will not do it.
Alexander Gustafsson vs. Vladimir Matyushenko Go Janitor!
Jim Hettes vs. Nam Phan Phan is quite a talented fighter. I don't know who Hettes is.

    PRELIMINARY CARD (Spike TV)

    Junior Assuncao vs. Ross Pearson
    Danny Castillo vs. Anthony Njokuani

    PRELIMINARY CARD (Facebook)

Dong Hyun Kim vs. Sean Pierson
    Efrain Escudero vs. Jacob Volkmann
    Luis Ramos vs. Matt Riddle
Manny Gamburyan vs. Diego Nunes This pick is for Armen.

I'm with you on all 5 picks. If Overoid has the opportunity to showcase his K-1 skills, Lesnar will be in deep trouble. After Brock's health issues, I still question whether he has regained his pre-Cain form.

Cowboy FTW, love his fighting style. Fitch is a well-rounded fighter, I think he will be up to the task. LOL on Hettes, I don't recognize the name either.

I love to see Overeem win, but hate to see Brock get his ass kicked! I like Brock alot but I think he will get hurt this fight. I'd love to see Hendricks beat Fitch. The Cowboy is gonna give a beating to Diaz! I can't wait to see that!

Armen, This is the only time I've disagreed with you, but ARGH... I can't stand Lesnar. The only thing I like about him is the big Slayer sign painted on his gym wall!!! I'm not denying his talent, I just don't like him.

I can't wait for Cowboy to destroy Punk Diaz...

I Hate to say this, BUT... I have a hunch that Diaz will beat The Cowboy. So i'm going back on my original thought. Well, the odds helped me change my mind. Theres a bit of $$ to be made on Diaz.

I love Cowboy, and I still think he's a better fighter but Diaz just toyed with him tonight.

Jimy Hettes will be a monster - needs some conditioning but he dominated Phan. What can you say about Hendricks? Amazing...

Waiting for the Lesnar / Overeem fight. Would be surprised if Lesnar can pull it off.

OK, so I went like 1/9 tonight... my worst night picking them...

Armen, how did you know Nate would come on so strong. I'm bummed that Cowboy lost, but that was a dominant showing....

Brock... what can I say; the guy can't take a hit, has no heart, quits when he gets beat twice... what else.... is a bitc4... I'm glad he retired. He did nothing but bring the UFC to WWE smack. He's fast and strong, but can't fight. . . . Let's go 'Reem....

    Hettes? wow.... damn wow.

I just figured Cerrone never really fought anyone taller than him with a long reach. Plus Diaz's Jiu-Jitsu is better. And after watching the Gomi fight again. I figured with those odds, it's worth a try.
I agree, Lesner should retire (good call on his part). No Heart!!!!!
I loved seeing Fitch get KO'ed. Hey, atleast it was the most exciting fight he's been in!

Thankfully, I didn't have any money on my picks. I'd be homeless today!

I didn't know who Hettes was prior to last night, but I certainly know who he is now. Quite an impressive performance by him - nice way to put himself on the map.

These Diaz brothers are on a tear. Gotta give the kid props, Having said that, I can't say Cowboy looked to be 100%. Great fight though.

Wow to Hendricks! Where the heck did that come from? Dana probably loved that - watch Fitch go way back in the line up for a shot now that Dana has a reason to put him there.

Watch out HW division. I think a new Champ has arrived. Overeem was incredible! I can't wait to see him against JDS. Kick boxing vs. boxing - should be a highly entertaining fight.

Wow, wizard of boz references, you guys had to go way back for that one!
There was no doubt Overeem would kill Brock, but it makes me wonder if the UFC fighters are soft compared to some of the other leagues.

I don't think soft... I just think there are a few fighters out there that might be a bit better. Look at Fedor, We all thought he'd be king. He came here and got his a** whipped. I can't see ANYONE at 205 worldwide that could beat Jon Jones. I really feel the UFC recrute the best of the best. Just like Overeem. They have to come from somewhere.

There's Hendo and Rashad as two good opponents for Jones. After Friday night, maybe throw Gustafsson in there too. Gustafsson would probably be the most interesting out of the 3 mentioned because he has similar reach to Jones.

I also believe Silva would beat Jones at 205lbs.........

Lesnar reminds me so much of Michael Spinks. If you remember the build up to Tyson / Spinks, many actually thought Spinks would give Tyson trouble.

The reality was Spinks was disinterested (he already had money and was about to get a record pay day) and he was scared. 90 seconds later, he threw in the towel and was never heard from again.

Lesnar looked much the same. After all he's gone through with his health, and the money he's made over the years, he appeared to want nothing to do with the fight. I was not at all surprised by his announcement.

Got to give him some props - he got in the cage and fought. As someone that competed in BJJ, I can tell you it's not easy. However - not unlike the Spinks fight all those years ago - I'm a little ticked off that he quake up so quickly. I'm sure the kick hurt, but so did those Carwin punches. He gave up, collected his cash, and went home.

I like the guy, but thought he could have showed up more.

Super bummed about Cowboy. I'm a fan of the Diaz boys, but I thigh Cowboy would give Nate problems...he looked like he gave up a little too. Thats not the Cerrone you saw in the first Ben Henderson fight, something seemed off.

Hendricks - just wow. Same with Hettes...watch him - he can be a star.

i expected brock to get creamed ... but not as quickly as it happened ... it's true, he just can't take a punch ... or a kick ...

and in the diaz fight, i did expect the cowboy to put on a much better defence if not aggression ...

A few months ago I saw a segment about NFL insider Jay Glazer; turns out he is big into MMA and that helps give him credibility with players.

Before this I thought Glazer had been hitting too many donuts but turns out the guy is stocky, not flabby.

Here is a video of Glazer with Clay Matthews of the Packers...

I really do think Fedor was the best at that time. Hey, everyone gets old at sometime. People should give him credit (ALOT) of credit!

Glazer used to do commentary on the Pride fight broadcasts that used to be on, along with Frank Trigg. He now hosts a new UFC show, something like "Rountable of Champions". I just saw it this past week, where he had Mir, Jon Jones, Chuck Liddell, and Forrest as guests.
