Not to mention the competitive spirit. If someone challenged me in Jiu-Jitsu, I'd roll in a second. I've been out for a year, and I'd still do it - it's just the competitor in me.

You think Condit - or any of these guys - would turn it down? No way. Maybe their manager or coaches convince them, but not the fighter.

Condit will fight if he's presented the opportunity.

10 months or so is a long time to wait. IMO the welterweight division is so stacked I can think of a half dozen other contenders off hand who would match up against GSP. If it comes down to putting food on the table, then yeah Condit has to fight. My opinion was Condit has nothing else to prove as far as cementing his status as the top contender. Case in point Fitch, considered for a long time to be a lion in waiting for GSP. One KO that absolutely no one saw coming and his title shot is pretty much dust in the wind.

His career may not be over but it is a very big speed bump. He is getting fined from his purse of this last fight and suspended for a year.. Hope he has money saved up.

Th ONLY speedbump Diaz has is himself. He is as good as he wants to be! Let's face it, he IS a machine. He can be the best if he wants to be and sets his mind to it. I'm not Bias cause I cant stand the guy.

I'm picking Ellenberger over Sanchez tomorrow. We shall see if a convincing Ellenberger victory entices Condit to defend his interim title this summer. The first time around was a close fight and Ellenberger has improved his game although Condit certainly has as well.

    Entertaining card last night.

Why wasn't the headliner a 5-rounder? I thought that they were supposed to be. If it would have went 5 rounds, I think we would have seen a different result. Diego really came to life in the 3rd, and Ellenberger was clearly withering. No one can deny that Diego has tremendous heart. Good win for Ellenberger, but I think Diego may have showed the world how to beat Ellenberger.

GOOD, So I wasn't the only one thinking the same thing. I swear, I even texted my friend after the 3rd. round and said: Deigo might take this fight (thinking there was 2 more rounds). Great fights all together last night.

I don't have Fuel TV, so I missed it, but did read that Dana White was pissed it didn't have a chance to go 5 rounds, so he said from now on ALL headliners, regardless of if they are PPV or Fox will be 5 rounds. I think the Fuel and FX fights weren't going to be 5 rounds.

i think that instead of just hitting a "speed bump", this may have long term implications ... like being banned for an extended period of time.

Bendo looked phenomenal. Obviously bigger and just as fast with great cardio. He pressed Edgar all night which was key. Bloody nose and left eye swollen shut while bendo looked like he could have done a modeling shoot. So happy for bendo can't wait to see him defend his title against pettis. Edgar needs to drop down and challenge aldo IMHO. His career is going to be cut short taking damage from bigger fighters like Maynard and bendo. Granted Edgar has the biggest heart in UFC but his body doesn't need to take a savage beating every fight.

I was so upset when Shields won. I really didn't think he won the fight. He was getting pushed around like a rag doll. He has NO balance on his stand up!!! Poor Edgar, Smooth looked SO GOOD! Rampage did NOTHING! OK maybe a half a** slam but that's about it. I actually enjoyed the card alot.

Good job by Bendo - it was a close fight. If Pettis is up next for a title shot, it will be one hell of a fight. I would love to see Edgar drop down a weight class. I think he would give Aldo the fight of his life.

Shields could not get him to the ground at all, but even though his standup is lackluster, he did land more shots. The days of 1-trick ponies are over though. Shields is incredible on the ground, but everyone knows this. Unfortunately, Akiyama just didn't do nearly enough on his feet to take the win. Akiyama should have found a way to win it after completely neutralizing Shields' area of expertise.

Amazing comeback by Gomi. Also by Boetch. I love fights like that!

Quick work for Pettis. This guy is freaking good! I cannot wait to see a rematch against Bendo. I don't know who would win that one.

And how about Mark Hunt??? Very impressive. The guy looks so out of shape, but man, he can strike. He sure showed his K-1 credentials in that fight.

It was a pretty good card overall - I never thought I would say this, but it was too long! It you watched all of the preliminaries, and then the full PPV card, it was a really long day of fights. Heck, PPV ended well after 1AM.

I agree with you on all except the Shields fight. It was a LONG night. i think i sat for 5 hrs. I think cause the prelims were all good match ups as well. But when I go live, I get there right when the doors open so It's always a good 5-6hrs. I won't miss a fight when im there live.

UFC on FX 2's Johnson-McCall actually a draw, tabulation error leads to rematch
by MMAjunkie.com Staff on Mar 03, 2012 at 12:25 am ET

SYDNEY – After initially declared a split-decision win for Demetrious Johnson and then a majority-decision victory for the fighter, Johnson's UFC on FX 2 bout with Ian McCall actually turned out to be a majority draw.

The Combat Sports Authority of New South Wales confirmed after UFC on FX 2 that a tabulation error resulted in the incorrect scores.

The mistake was caught too late for the flyweight-tournament fight to go to what would have been a sudden-victory fourth round.

The tourney fight was part of the event's FX-televised main card at Sydney's Allphone Arena. The event took place Saturday afternoon in Australia and aired in the U.S. on Friday night due to the time difference.

Because of the error, the fight – which initially was showered in boos by fans who thought McCall had won – will happen again. Currently, the rematch is tentatively slated for April, though clearly frustrated UFC president Dana White said no exact date is set.

White, though, confirmed that both competitors will get their win bonuses.

Until it's Johnson-McCall happens again, the winner of the tourney's other semifinal fight, Joseph Benavidez (who knocked out Yasuhiro Uru****ani), will wait on the sidelines. He'll meet the Johnson-McCall winner for the UFC's first-ever flyweight championship.

Initially, Johnson was declared the winner via 28-29, 29-28 and 29-28 scores. Later, Johnson was declared the majority-decision victor via 29-28, 29-29 and 29-28 scores. However, according to a commission official, one judge had scored the final round 10-8, which was overlooked during tabulations. So the final scores were 28-28, 29-29, 29-28 (Johnson got the 29-28 score).

Had the error been caught in time, Johnson and McCall would have fought an immediate fourth round to determine a winner.

I thought for sure McCall won. I couldn't believe it was a split/majority draw even. I told my wife "well, the UFC is offically fixing fights".

Great Strikeforce card last night. Man, that Rousey chick is DANGEROUS!!! Poor Tate, I was hoping she would win. I respected the Thompson vs Noons fight. Thompson followed his game plan perfectly. It wasn't pretty but it got the job done. I respected that fight. Jacare is one of my Favorite fighters. I love watching him. He always makes for an exciting fight. DALEY LOST!!! I can only Laugh!

Although I think Rousey sounds like a complete moron every time she opens her mouth, props are due. She did an excellent job in this fight, and came out and did what she said she would do. I would love to see her against Cyborg, whom I think would destroy Rousey.
