Both fights so far on FX went the distance, I'm looking for a finish.

True. Jds will be heavy favorite but mir is a warrior. He jacked up Nog's arm.

Funny, I didn't Buy the card tonight. I think I got spoiled with all the free stuff on TV. I just didn't feel the card was all that great. I am following it online though.I'll see some fights for free in the morning. Go Rashad! (wishful thinking)!

U didn't miss much. Main event was almost as boring as when sugar fought Davis. Bones seemed conservative and tentative at times. He rocked
Evans with elbows and stiff jabs but wouldn't close on the single or double leg takedowns. The undercards were much more interesting. My local boy yagin was gritty. Torres and Che got lit up.

Really? Impossible to say how good JDS is on the ground simply because no one has gotten him there. BJJ is Mir's bread and butter....you think JDS could have subbed Nog? You think JDS could have subbed Lesnar in that flurry that Mir was undertaking?

I was disappointed to see Torres lose. It's sad when one of the all-time greats has started their decline. Yagin did a great job. Torres did too little too late.

Rory is on his way. It's funny to hear talk about his aspirations of being Champ sooner than later, while GSP is sitting in his corner. It will be interesting to see what transpires if/when Rory gets the call from Dana to fight GSP for the title.......

Beautiful jobs by Rothwell and Travis Browne - very impressive wins.

Agreed. Mir has improved significantly though, I don't see him handling JDS.

If Mir should win, would we see a return of Lesnar? :D

Of course I don't think that will happen, but would be cool nonetheless.

Anything is possible but jds looks good. Does rothwell get shot if Mir loses or rematch with Cain? Lesnar is done in UFC going to make his $$ in wwe without stressing about diverticulitis or steroid testing. Overoid has one year suspension I think.

Hendricks won good one. Very close bout koshcheck came on strong in third round. Diaz looked great. Striking was aggressive and he did what I didn't think was possible, submit miller. Nasty guillotine.

Was a pretty good card overall, both prelims and main.

I have never been a fan of Alan Belcher, but I have to say his win over Palhares was very impressive. He went deep into Palhares' world, neutralized him, and came out on top. So, after this fight, I had become a fan. That is, until they interviewed him. The guy is freakin' cocky - made me now shy away from being a fan. Why don't fighters go the humble route - carry yourself like a GSP does, have some class and humbleness - will win you more fans than anything else.

Worst take down defense in MMA? My vote is for Garza. Bermudez threw him around like a rag doll, almost seeming as if Garza threatened no defense whatsoever. He did handle himself very well off his back.

Johnson looked like a beast against Berry. I look forward to watching him develop. Good card for a freebie.

Just to bump this thread up to the top.
Bellator fights were great last night; Big Rig is a beast.

TUF is getting more and more boring to me.... Not sure what it is, but it's just not that interesting of a show this season.

Jon Jones popped for a DUI. It's interesting that Dana W will kick someone out of the UFC for an off color joke, etc. , but when a star is busted for something, there is nothing, just "I can't control these guys..." Money talks....

So Cormier beat Barnett. Very impressive! I'd like to see both of these guys in the UFC sooner than later. In fact, I'd love to see Cormier get a shot at the winner of Mir/JDS, or maybe have him fight Overeem to get that opportunity.

That was the only fight I got to see. I want to see the Melendez/Thomson fight.......anyone see it? If yes, was it entertaining? Any other fights that one should make a point of seeing?

    Pretty good card last night.

Props to JDS. I was hoping Mir would get him to the ground, but that is proving to be a near impossible task. JDS' TDD is amazing. Oh, and anyone who believes that JDS is anywhere in Mir's league on the ground is delusional.

Huge KO for Big Country! Very, very impressive. Of course, the same for Velasquez. Cain looked amazing, and I cannot wait to see him against JDS again. Things will get very interesting when Overeem is back in the loop.

I am not a big fan of Struve's, but his sub was textbook.

Huge KO for Hardy. Boy, did he need that one. I think he would have been released if he had lost.

Incredible performance by Varner. If he fought like that every time, he could very well be the Champ. Welcome back Jamie. I hope you are back for good.

    Great win by Mike Brown.

And Teixeira.....? Where the hell did this guy come from? What an animal! Really look forward to seeing this guy fight again. He will be a force in the division.

And Jason Miller...... what a major disappointment. He showed a few glimpses of some promise during the fight, but not nearly enough to win it. I was hoping he would have been a contender in the UFC.....

I'm sorry, but I thought Guida won that hands down tonight. He danced and stung and Maynard just couldn't do anything to him....

100% agree - now the boxing blindness is starting to affect MMA. Guida won that fight going away. I'm really getting annoyed - Maynard had nothing until Guida went for the takedown and nearly got subbed. I give Maynard round 4 just for that, nothing else.

On top of that - Miragliotta should have his license revoked...Guida wasn't running. That was horrendous.

It wasn't pretty, and it wasn't something I enjoyed seeing Guida do, but his strategy worked.

For minute I thought the Ebersole fight would go the same way. Waldburger is slick, but Ebersole dominated, yet here's Florian talking like Waldburger won it...

I disagree - Guida had a ton of movement, but he also had very little offence going. It got rather boring. You can try to float like Dominic Cruz, but if you aren't landing strikes like Cruz does, then it is all show and no go. Maynard won it.

The rest of the fights were quite good. Beautiful job by Cub Swanson over Ross Pearson.

Guida I felt won the fight also. Lame fight but he did what he had to to win. (and he didn't). Guida knew if Maynard got a hold of him it would be over and he proved it in the (4)? Ebersole is always a blast to watch. I'm a big fan of his. He gets the job done.

Just watched the Fedor vs Rizzo fight from Friday. even though it was only Rizzo, nice to see Fedor get a nice KO. On the other hand it was BRUTAL to watch Roger Huerta get Soccer kick KO'ed in his loss this weekend. He went STRAIGHT down hill after having a record of something like 20-1 he lost 6 out of 7 of his last fights. Poor Guy he has such a tough life. Im a big fan of his. sad to see this.

    Here are the fight stats.

It was close, but the stats show Maynard won as well. You don't get points for running away.

I saw the Fedor fight as well. Do you think he retired at the right time? I have to wonder if he still had some good fights left in him. I give him total respect for fighting only on his terms, but the world will always wonder what he could have done in the UFC......

I think Fedor said he was retiring because his kids were growing up and he was spending so much time away training, that he was missing out on it. I gotta respect him for that!!!! Too many people put careers in front of family. He is/was a great fighter and always will be.
