I noticed that too. A LOT of MMA fighters do that. I'm surprised they get away with it.

Agreed! Maybe just caught up in the moment, but for me, that was a second nature response. In fact, I've tapped guys even when they didn't cross, it's that painful and it's intuitive for me.

Holm didn't tap out. I wonder if she had locked the ankle, would Miesha have loosened? We can never say, but my gut tells me yes. Might be something for Holm to look for next fight (if she finds herself in that position).

Having watched McGregor's antics over the last year or so, I can't help but not feel sorry for him at all. All McGregor seems to ever talk about is metrics. Money, gate numbers, PPV sales, and being seated at the table with the Fertitta brothers. Even in his post UFC196 interviews he mentions his loss to being "less efficient". F all of that noise; you lost because you weren't as good as your ego made you believe (fanned by Dana White I'm sure).

He needs to STFU about business and know his role as a fighter. Glad he got his ass kicked and hopefully he will focus more on that next time around.

I imagine Frank, Lorenzo and Dana having a chuckle about their employee getting put back in line.

I think many saw it coming, but it's a BS deal. It's BS to the fans (no one wants to see a 3rd match between these two at this time). It's BS to Holm, who was winning the fight and should have a chance at Tate first. It's BS to Tate, who has worked long and hard to get to this point, and should have the benefit of a push.

Maybe I'm biased - and I'm not anti-Rousey - but Tate could be a solid brand for the UFC. She's a total looker, and while that might be chauvinistic, it would definitely bring attention to women's MMA.

This is the same BS the UFC pulled with McGregor / RDA.

Well, it will turn into musical chairs now. Meisha will fight, and likely lose to Rousey again, then Holm will take the belt away from Rousey again - it will be a never-ending situation!

Conor has learned not to venture where he doesn't have the length advantage that he enjoys so much at FW and at LW. If they do give him the RDA fight as originally planned, he will get mauled, which would derail the McGregor hype train in it's tracks. I give him all of the props in the world, though. He is the very best self-promoter in MMA, and is taking advantage of that by getting these massive paydays. He should take advantage of it for as long as possible, because it can all disappear in the blink of an eye.

But I think Rhonda will be a little smarter next time against Holly.

I think she will do what she does best and go straight around the waist for a take down to put her in the arm bar.

No mucking around next time, straight in and get the job done.

Whether or not that will happen is another story of course.

And no one should begrudge him that - he sold the fight. However, he's braggadocio is too over the top. I actually think he won points in defeat, he took it like a man.

Part of my dislike of Conor relates to the UFC indulging his every whim. Some champions that take a hiatus or vacate a weight group are stripped and there's an "interim" title fight. Others get to keep their title - where's the consistency?

The minute Conor wanted to jump up to face RDA, he should have been stripped of his title. Let Edgar / Aldo fight for it. Otherwise, stay at your weight and fight the #1 contender.

That's the UFC's fault, not McGregor's. However, it fuels some of the haters for sure.

The UFC is about making money for Dana White...so it is driven by ticket/pay-for-view sales rather than professionalism based on a set of rules. Fighters who "behave" and have skill and charisma make a percentage of Dana's take. That's why Rousey fights Tate next...

Don't take anything away from McGregor at 145. He is SOLID at that weight class. But carrying around 25 lbs. is not easy. NO ONE jumps up 2 weight classes, comm'on who the He** do you think you are!
Holm is getting screwed. UFC TOTALLY wants fat Ronda on top. After Ronda's fight, wasn't it Ronda who wanted to hold off on a rematch? Holm should get an immediate rematch with Tate. Besides, Ronda got her A** KICKED. Holm was winning.

Consistency in the UFC??? Now that's funny!

McGregor needs the reach advantage, so if I were him, I would look to go no higher up than LW. He would get mauled by the likes of Robbie Lawler. The UFC is very evidently full on the McGregor hype train, and they will ride it until it is no longer bringing in the big money. I fully agree that letting him venture away from FW without even having defended the belt once is a joke. He needs to defend his belt against Edgar next.

Dana wouldn't commit to Edgar in the post-fight Fox interview. McGregor had a two inch leg reach advantage on Diaz. http://www.ufc.com/event/UFC196/printFightCard

Holy crap - can 2 announcers suck more than the guys on Bellator? I'm watching Benson Henderson lose pretty convincingly to Andrey Koreshkov, but you'd think Koreshkov was the second coming of Ivan Drago.

One idiot said he had some 10-8 rounds...wtf? Talking like Koreshkov shocked the world and how he utterly dominated him. Hardly.

If Koreshkov - or Hendo for that matter - are that good, prove it in UFC.

I kinda think that he did "utterly" dominated Henderson. Henderson did NOTHING offensively. He basically survived. Take nothing away from Henderson though, man is he tough!!!

Rousey sucks. She always has- doesn't embody good sportsmanship, good human spirit, she's just a jerk.

Did you see the articles about where she cussed out PVZ for congratulating Holly? What ****** chick.....
