    Guys,
Have any of you seen UFO's? Do you believe in them? I've seen a lot of info on Google Video that's pretty interesting, in the cover up, and some explanations, especially about the pyramids.

I'm interested to hear anyone take on any of this,

    Jim

I fly 600+ hours a year in a wide variety of locations around the world. I fly at night, I fly during the day. I fly with night vision googles that let you pick out an amazing amount of air traffic and see the Milky Way galaxy in it's full glory. I fly with a pretty decent SLR camera, some really great lenses and take A LOT of pictures. I would absolutely love to see something truly unidentifiable in the skies and take some pictures but so far have been disappointed. Here is a recent pic of a high flyer that would have been completely unidentifiable without a big lens and high resolution.... the single contrail gives it away :)

Of course there are UFO's - it's in disputable.

Anything flying in the sky that is not identified is a UFO by definition.

As for alien spaceships visiting the earth from other planets... well thats a different matter entirely. I do not believe that we have been visited, and if we had we would never ever know about it. There absolutely is life on other planets, but to think that ET's with smooth skin and enlarged heads come here in flying saucers and don't make official contact, but are often spotted by drunken rednecks at night (before said rednecks are picked up for anal probing) is beyond far fetched.

I'm pretty sure once you've worked at Area 51 or any "confidential" government institution that you're sworn to secrecy your whole life.

I'm sure there are plenty of FChatters here that know plenty.:D

I do believe in alien life but I am not sure that we will be ever have any contact with them. The cosmos are large on a scale that humans can't comprehend and even relatively close alien solar systems would take a long time to reach even at a speed close to light. This would require many, many years of continual travel at very high speeds - unless there is science out there that breaks the laws that we know and can literally transport people around the universe. And I'm not dismissing this idea because I'm not smart enough or have read enough fact based science to conclude this or not.

But it just seems like we might not be alone, but we might as well be! I think the time it would require to bring a civilization's technology up to the level where it would need to be to continually transverse the galaxies is a long, long, long time. And the probability of a civilization prospering for that long without self or cosmic destruction (asteroids, particle bursts from distant space) seems rare at best.

And lastly, who the hell would want to visit this cosmic cesspool and a civilization that can't put it's brain to any good use?

I do like the far-fetched ideas floating around out there. Specifically our own species far more advanced than where we are today in a vastly distant future ahead that have mastered bending or distorting time and are here as time travelers that just happen to be dropping in at this exact moment in time.

As has been said several times the odds of their NOT being life on other planets is slim. Of course that doesnt mean we've had visitors on earth...doesnt mean we havent either. Earth has been around a LONG time and it could have happened 500 million years ago.

They real question is have we been visited in the past ~5000 years ?

    As for seeing UFOs.

I was in my hottub around 3am one night...staring up at a clear sky. All of a sudden from out of nowhere a craft flew by right over my head. I heard no engine and it was round-ish with no lights on it. I could swear it was only a couple hundred feet off the ground but it went by so fast and unexpectedly that I cant be sure.

It was definately a UFO..but I dont know if it was from another planet !

I know somebody who worked in area 51. They had to fly him to work everyday. He had to take lie detector tests every week. He was working on an engine for a bomber. It is no longer classified, so he talks about it. He did not know that it was no longer classified until he saw it in a flight magazine.

He said that one of their test pilots crashed in a farmers field. It was all top secret stuff. The farmer ended up finding the guy before anyone else and the farmer asked what he was doing. Because it was top secret, he said "I came from the moon". You can imagine what happened. The next day, the paper had an article about someone a visitor from the moon. That is how rumors happen.

He said once they were sitting on the runway to take off to get to area 51. The plane had the type of door that went down and had steps on it. Well, the door was not properly latched and flung open. They heard a "bang" and stopped the plane to figure out what happened. Because of this and the delay they caused, they were interrogated. They took it so serious that he thought they were all going to loose their jobs.

He never saw any signs of UFOs or life from other planets...not to say there was not a lot more going on there.

I had a bunch of coworkers that used to work on the Stealth F-117 in the early 80's. It was very serious business about keeping your mouth shut. From other people that have had access to certain areas, I have heard that we have some stuff that you would not believe. If you just go by time, and what we had in the 70's, we Have to have some serious S*&^ now, and I really don't know why we don't use these advanced technologies that we have. It WOULD probably change a lot of things, especially the dependance on outside energy.

I have never seen odd anything myself. I think it would be cool though. As far as we know, the universe goes on for infinity. There's bound to be something else out there beside us. I think the universe as we know is it just a molecule in a much larger picture and we don't have a clue as to what's really out there.

I've always heard rumors that the technology the government experiements with (a la Area 51) is decades ahead.

Also heard that Area 51 is no longer the big secret place, and the new place is somewhere in Colorado in the mountains?

If you're interested in the "Alien Visitors" side of UFO research here are some things to google:

    Disclosure Project
    Bob Lazar
    John Lear
    Rendlesham Forest

The most interesting story I've ever read on UFO's:

My guess as to why we don't use the technologies is simply a matter of cost.
