    Well, I got all but one injector out (second one from the right, forward bank). When I turn the nozzle it just spins inside the threaded barrel. So how would one go about getting just the nozzle out so I can get an extractor into the barrel to thread it out. It appears that someone in the past has tried to chisel the top surface of the barrel to try to back it out. Whether they were successful I don't know but it sure doesn't seem like it! I tried yanking the nozzle out with vice grips but it doesn't seem to want to budge (well, either that or I'm a weakling!). Anyone have any ideas?

    Also, what is the correct cylinder numbering on the car? Let's assume you're standing at the back, looking down onto the engine, starting with the rear bank (closest to the license plate panel), left to right. Then the front bank, left to right.

    and a removed injector
    and the inside of an injector boss
    and I'll tell you how to get it out

    wow, sounds exactly like my car, including the chiesel marks. I didn't NEED to take it out, so I left it in. I would start using Liquid Wrench/PBlaster/etc. on it now and let it start soaking in while FBB is writing up how to get it out.

    Doesn't the barrel have a hex nut fitting on it too? Or are you saying the threads on the barrel are stripped?

    The barrel just has a flat surface that sits flush with the intake. There is a hex opening in the middle for the nozzle to go through but no provision otherwise to take it out if the middle hex opening is stripped, such as this one is.

    I'll take pics when I get to my workshop today.

    I've had a couple of injectors that were very stubborn during removal, I managed to pop them out with a firm grasp of the injector top with one hand and the other hand supporting the tubing(so that does not get bent), with one good clean jerk. If that fails, I would tend to use silicone spray @ O-ring location rather than liq. wrench as this product is petroleum distillate based. Silicone grease is always recommended over vaseline for O-rings. I found that my O-rings had a slight gum build-up on them, so I pop them out once in a while for a quick clean (injector tip as well) and they've never been a problem since.
